Didn't the original synth they modelled it after only have one OSC? What's with the extra osc?

So you are going to complain that they made improvements, just not the ones you wanted? I think they got it just about right. I can get an order of magnitude more out of a second oscillator with cross-modulation than I would out of a second envelope.

So you are going to try to start an internet argument because in your imagination someone is going to complain about something? Oh heavens did I offend a sensitive fanboy with a question?

If I had to chose between a second osc and a second envelope it would be a second osc, but I don't think I care nearly as much as you seem to. But keep fighting the good fight to make sure the world knows what you find useful so we can all learn the noble path.

Now enough of these silly questions that may or may not lead to a complaint so we can get back to praising a synthesizer plugin on the internet!

We are no longer taking questions in this thread. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I don't actually care, it's just that to me it is blindingly obvious why they did what they did. Even the additions they made in the update make sense. Maybe they are a little too concerned with the aesthetics of the whole thing, trying to keep it looking as much like the original as they can, but I get why they do that, too.

If they do what everyone else does and keep adding features all the time, it ends up being like every other VSTi out there. Simplicity and the ease of use that comes with it is a massive point of difference in a crowded market, one that I am more than happy to pay a premium for. Of course, if they start doing that, it's easy enough not to upgrade, which is something I've done with other instruments in the past (and wish I'd done with a few others).

This is a nice synth imo, not the most interesting to me personally, but nice.

1000X this.

Every time a new synth is released nearly the first comment is about what it can't do.

BA-1's strength is its simplicity, focus and directness. And I love it for that.

Tacking on multiple features for the hell of it goes against the fundamental design of the synth.

There are 100s of synths with features out the wazoo. It's refreshing to have a synth that is super simple and sounds great.

A nice sounding synth, a slight enhancement on the CS01 with X2 OSC, decent FX I suppose, but something that I will use along side other synths in my stash.

Everything you guys are saying makes sense. I would only mention that the BA-1 is already a massive improvement over the CS01. It isn't just a slight tweak on a classic.

Yes it is a nice synth, what do you kike best about it?

It's grey.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

I like that its orange. I also like that it's so easy to get usable sounds from. It has plenty of sweet spots and they are easy to find. But it feels skewed towards doing the kinds of sounds that I'm likely to find useful, you may or may not find as much use for it as we do. I even find occasional uses for the standalone effects.

I managed to get all the packs installed. BA-1 is my first call for trying ideas out, the simplicity works in its' favour and it sounds great.

Right now it's only $49. At that price it is an absolute no-brainer.

Indeed. You would have to be brainless to buy it.

It doesn't have mod- or pitch wheels. And not to mention the lack of a flux capacitor.
