i'm a mac-user, so it's not for me anyway, but from the looks of it, it looks VERY basic... that's not an issue it all, but for 100$ you should probably let us know, what sets it ahead of the competition. nowadays you get much more advanced synths for less or even free (Synthmaster One as an example).

to be fair, i’m sure he has to charge so much to recoup the enormous investment he spent on getting that gui developed. sometimes you gotta make hard choices like “do i charge a little more or do i sacrifice 2 of the 4 vibrato (?) rectangles” and this man decided to give the people what they want. an even, symmetrical arrangement of of rectangles along with 4 parameters to dial in the vibrato. those are 2 of the 3 most important qualities i look for in a synth, right up there with, obviously, at least 6 parameters to shape the filter q. it looks like this one only has 4 but we can hope for more in the future updates, as long as the rectangles remain balanced

All I invested was my time and skills, for about 3-4 months! I made it using egui but then did the other gui library and it looked better. Most of the effort was put into synth sound and making sure it sounds good. I attached a little composition I made to make it sound like old chiptune 8-bit videogame soundtracks, which is pretty basic, but you do get some tremolo, vibrato, envelopes, and filters a bit. I plan on making sure panning works better in the future when I try to upgrade the midi aspects of it! I will offer that at the same price, free upgrade if you bought it already.

I spent a lot of time learning how synthesizers work and even took a (REALLY HARD) class on Psychoacoustics to get some background into how all this stuff works. Overall if you are looking for a nice synth for your collection, 100$ isn't too bad considering the nice gui and 32 parameters that you can configure and automate.

Here's some demo songs:
https://linglin.art/ChipTuneTwo.mp3 (Traditional 8-bit RPG Music)
https://linglin.art/ChipTuneDungeon.mp3 (More Ambient, uses automation and arpeggio for textures)

Both of those demos are all Subsynth, save for maybe a few drum samples...Check it out. I think it's all dry effects as well. This is just basic FL Studio and piano roll and automation doing this.

I don't see how this is worth the asking price at all. Pretty much every much more powerful synth can do what this appears to do and for often nowhere near as much. You're competing with something like Vital which is maybe 1000x as powerful and is free.

The whole thing seems fishy to me.

It's probably true, I am just a solo developer trying to make a sale I guess...dunno why it seems "fishy" though, can you explain?

New version screenshot, added LFOs with attack, intensity, and speed for Filter cutoff, resonance, and panning. I also added a chorus effect that sounds pretty neat.

It looks a good solid synth, but I think you're unable to detect the sarcasm here.

Is it possible you're not familiar with the world of audio plugins and what people would generally expect for their money?
I'm looking at your synth, and despite all the hard work you've obviously put into it I think most users would not spend $100 on what appears to be a quite basic single-oscillator single-filter hard-wired-modulation synthesiser.

I'm a mac user so I'm not able to use it even if I were to purchase it, but I think $100 is way too much for a synth with these specifications. What are people actually buying? Is there a huge preset library? Free upgrade path for buyers while the product matures? Does it have any unique features which make it stand-out in the enORMous crowd of soft synths?

These are possibly some of the reasons you aren't getting the interaction you were hoping for.

I wouldn't pay $100 for a synth with that GUI. YMMV!

You're selling your FIRST synth for $100??? And you didn't know jack shit about synthesis or music before you started "designing" this synth? What in the fuckity-f**k? Absolutely bonkers.

Honestly, the gui looks like complete garbage and i wouldn't even download a free version. Could you really not be bothered checking the alignment on your text? Left-justified? Centered? It's so difficult!!!

Ok let's calm down and not be complete wank3rs about a new dev and his foray into this DANGEROUS world of psychotic plugin users..

My mum always said to me if you can't say something niceor useful, don't say anything at all.

This "dev" absolutely deserves it.

I feel a bit bad for saying that. But the pricing is insane for what this synth is. It looks like a very fixed architecture, very basic subtractive synth with essentially no GUI to speak of. I could purchase things like Pigments, Spire, Current, etc for that price (on sale but still...).
It just seems bonkers to me. What makes you think it's worth basically half the price of Serum 2?

I'm sure you put a lot of energy jnto this but you've said it's your first product. I don't have much business acumen but I'd suggest you give this product away and build a customer base before trying to make money from this stuff.

Anyway, apologies if I was harsh. Good luck

I agree. I think it's perfectly okay to criticise a developers product and pricing though.

Doubt it. They probably vibe-coded it in 30 minutes with claude code.

Yes,I also took a class...

I know how my synth works, the UI I am going to update, maybe then I can sell it for $100? This is VST3/Clap made in Rust not exactly a SynthEdit Project, not that it matters if it doesn't sound good, but I think it sounds rather nice...and it took me quite a while to make...I mean I have literally seen $0 ROI, you really think it's too expensive? It doesn't really sound bad...
