Huh. Thie Enya guitar looks actually interesting, maybe not just a gimmick.

BF sale at Amazon for $329, which just about puts it in impulse buy range for me. Some of their SuperStrats are on sale, too.

EDIT: Looks like they have a brand new guitar, the Sonic JT, on BF sale for $411, at the same link above. For $80 more, it looks like a significant upgrade in multiple ways. I'm trying to resist the GAS, but it's hard.

EDIT #2: Dammit. I was forced to buy the Sonic JT. Thanks for making me aware of this ax, harryupbabble!

If you get a chance, check out Billy Strings. He‘s an amazing player, though his primary passion is Bluegrass. It‘s so refreshing to me to see a young guy shredding musically on an acoustic (which is my primary mode for my primary instrument). I haven‘t seen him flub a note, yet. His picking technique, I can only wish I had a right hand like that.

Billy Strings is great! He would pop up every now and then on PBS (about the only place to see bluegrass performances on U.S. TV anymore) over the last decade… Song of the Mountains, Bluegrass Underground, Austin City Limits, etc.

He’s matured a lot during that time and has come a long way. Originally from Michigan, which has had a bigger place in country music than you would think. For example Harlan Perry Howard, my half-sister’s uncle, grew up in Michigan and wrote hundreds of country hits, including cowriting the big Patsy Cline hit I Fall to Pieces. There was a big Nashville session steel player living like four houses down from me and I didn’t even know it until I stopped by the estate sale and picked up the most ancient DeArmond volume pedal I have ever seen for $5. Truly an archaic looking thing and I’ve never seen another like it. I can’t remember the guy’s name though.

His tastes are varied, and align with my own, which is nice surprise. There's a vid of him doing Pink Floyd's 'Fearless' off the Meddle album.
I knew a few guys like him. One day they're trying to strum to Rocky Raccoon, and a few weeks later they're playing Page/Hendrix/Gilmour note perfect.
