AI is already good enough for 2.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify generating $2k a day...now you know why the labels want to own udio and suno...they can get paid twice...for the publishing they own that it's trained on, and by cranking out stables of AI artists derived from the publishing they own
lets see if paul mccartney and elton john can stop them...they were among 400 creatives urging the UK government to force AI firms to reveal the copyrighted works used to train their models in a formal complaint...
'We will lose an immense growth opportunity if we give our work away at the behest of a handful of powerful overseas tech companies and with it our future income,' it read.

You seem to care about that money?
Then stop sharing these links!
Each view is another 0.001 penny in their pockets.
If nobody listens / views, then that kills their business model.

just thought it would be interesting to hear what people thought of the quality and the success...youtube already blocked AI from monetization in JulyBertKoor wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 7:46 am You seem to care about that money?

I personally could not care less. It's just a hype and I don't do hypes.
This just shows that Spotify is broken.
I just hope the gets compensated.

I would not trust Spotify to report accurate numbers as it is not trustworthy or accountable to any reporting firm. There are not auditing firms making sure these numbers are not inflated so when you see a blurb like this your first thought should be: marketingbermudagold wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 6:53 am same prompter apparently...also rocketing up Spotify charts

fair...definitely lots of agendas crisscrossing and overlapping behind the scenes for sureConstructed Identity wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 6:18 pmI would not trust Spotify to report accurate numbers as it is not trustworthy or accountable to any reporting firm. and that's the crux of it...where the majority of the public ends up falling on either side of this coin will determine a lot about the futurenirm123 wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 6:33 pm AI or not, I don't care, I judge a song only by what it's doing for me, and I really liked it.
apparently selena gomez and some other celebrities were highly promoting it...not knowing it was AI...and then didn't know how to react when they found out lol

Full blog post: https://june.cat/post/14The thing is, right now, the stock market and thus the “economy” is being held hostage by these bitches. Nvidia’s valuation is absolutely sky-high right now, and all the companies that are jumping on this bandwagon are getting their valuations pumped as well.
Why is this happening? Well, because a bunch of investors think they can make a bunch of money off an incestuous, illegal pumping scheme. What’s the scheme? Well, it’s basically what tech investors do every 5 years or whatever...
And ofcourse this phenomena:

It's extra spooky in the simulation of the live environment and crowd reaction, given that we know it's artificial.bermudagold wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 6:53 am same prompter apparently...also rocketing up Spotify charts
The rhythmical accenting, build ups etc. are undeniably sophisticated.
It's more of the same type of music that I have no interest in, and have sought refuge from most of my life, i.e. three chords and nothing happening in terms of composition. But I guess this is what most people enjoy, and it may well be better than a whole load of pop music according to the standards of those genres.
Outside of issues to do with copyright infringement in model training, I don't know what I make of this sort of thing. I'm never going to listen to it, though if someone were playing it in the background during a social event I'd never notice it was AI, and it's perfectly suited to use in TV and film where music plays a supportive role to drama.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

this is where my initial reaction went from day one...i think artists working in sync licensing are going to feel the first and biggest impact of these AI developments...cause as u point out its ideally suited for itchagzuki wrote: Mon Jan 19, 2026 11:24 pmit's perfectly suited to use in TV and film where music plays a supportive role to drama.bermudagold wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 6:53 am same prompter apparently...also rocketing up Spotify charts

Imho this "into the blue" song is a bit 'lifeless' in its dynamics,
Compared to a real singers song,
For example:
(This song is also slow, and i can admit quite simple in its structure, others may think it's AI too)
I have noticed one thing in the Sienna song,
It starts too early the you-hoo-oo part, thats the reason i don't like it, its unnatural.

Overly processed, over-produced, just like the vast majority of its training materials. I'll pass on stuff like that.
