Bingo Drum Machine

Post

Just came across this:

https://okaysynthesizer.com/#bingo

Do I need another drum machine?

No.

Do I want this anyway?

YES.

Good for people that like a certain Swedish brand of drum programming. :hihi:

Lots of P locks and lots of randomization = fun.

Currently on an intro sale so the price is nice.

Maybe a bit too many clicks to get around but I'm sure if you actually spend more than 30 minutes with it then it will flow better (standalone offers a bunch of keyboard shortcuts if you really want to fly around).

Cool but funky imo, I'll probably buy it :tu: (very probably)

thx for posting :)

I guess I have to check this out ;) Seems to be a very different beast though!

edit: Haha that demo video is insane, I love it!

from the video... which is kinda weird but kinda entertaining.

So this invite to ask ANYTHING seems like KvRs dream situation, right? :hyper:
A developer who claims to do ANYTHING. :hihi:
Demo downloaded. :phones:

Very interesting.
It's feature packed!
I have mixed feelings about the GUI (some parameters are quite huge, some others rather small, and you need to click and scroll quite a lot in order to get stuff done, so it might be some room for improvement, but it's great to see a new drum machine around with so many engines and a powerful sequencer 💪👍

It's excellent in terms of features. Everything works well. The P-lock feature is really well realised.

My main gripe is that the UI is too dynamic so the positions of things change based on what's being displayed. As a result you seem to be constantly chasing things based on what's displayed.

It also needs pattern banks, imho.

But overall for a first version it's really impressive.

Pattern banks are coming

It’s kinda hard to get this to sound good at times imo.

This looks incredible to me and I feel personally targeted with it's design but I'm really bummed with my first impression w/ parameter locking. Maybe it's because I'm on a touchpad right now but I find the way you set values on each step is really clumsy, I wanna just click and drag up and down like every single other sequencer out there, seems like you hold right click and drag which is kinda hard on a touchpad. Gonna keep messing about with it but first impressions like this are important.

Stellar work though, I think this looks really great.

Tahti is good for these kinds of things, as well. You can get the free desktop beta from his Discord (via the options menu):

I can't seem to get LFOs to work at all at modulating parameters.

Anyone else have this?

I can see the indicator that a parameter is being modulated but the sound doesn't change.

I'll check later but the dev is super responsive both on Discord and via email if something is borked with the LFOs.

Yeah, this would not be my first choice if I wanted a "drum machine sound". This is for bonkers, glitchy, noisy percussion. Not that it can't be tamed but it wants you to f*** sh** up
