Hey everyone, I’m Anton. I’m part of SineForge - a small crew of musicians and devs who spent about ten years working in Ableton before moving over to Reaper. We made MyDaw to make that switch easier for ourselves at first… and then for other people too, after so many folks asked us to share it. I've been a KVR reader for a long time, and now I hope I can please you with something useful :)

What it does: MyDaw transforms Reaper into an Ableton-style workflow with extra features. Open your Ableton projects (v9–12) directly, keep your familiar shortcuts, and start working immediately without relearning everything.

Why we built it: Ableton's workflow becomes muscle memory after a decade. When we moved to Reaper for flexibility, lightweight efficiency, and speed, we missed that simplicity and intuitiveness. So we recreated it, and added useful features inspired by Pro Tools and Studio One — plus some entirely new capabilities.

Key features that'll feel like home:

Direct Ableton project import — Racks, Simpler, Sampler, and common FX transfer over.

Area-selection workflow — Fast, familiar selection (no legacy Reaper confusion).

Scalable vector theme — Clean appearance on any screen.

Unified browser — One window for FX, chains, and audio.

Smart grid — Behaves like Ableton's grid without background scripts.

Flexible track-panel placement — Position the track panel on the left or right.

"God Mode" — Toggle between a minimal interface and full Reaper power.

(Plus streamlined menus, instant automation editing, auto-resizing docked windows, a remote recording interface, and more — see the full list on our site.)

The best part? It's portable and easy to install. Try it free, and if it clicks, you're set.

Playtime 2 for that

Interesting... I was saying over 15 years ago that ableton should've just been a plugin not a DAW so in some way there are those that did it...

Does this work in the Linux version of Reaper?

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

Unfortunately no., this is PlayTime territory.

Hah - well, you could say that, but seriously, you have to admit that Ableton has improved significantly in versions 11-12.

We haven't planned it yet, but if there are a lot of requests, we'll do it. We'll need beta testers.

Serial number activation via online or offline. Unlimited number of devices per user.

Our philosophy is minimalism, and we've included everything classically required from a DAW. The proliferation of buttons can become overwhelming, so we introduced a secondary menu level that you can add or remove depending on your workflow type.

Looks great, seconding other requests for a linux version, I'd be interested in beta testing.

Yeah, this seems pretty cool. I use Linux, however, so in order for me to use it, you'll have to support Linux.
