Wow, I got quothed by a delurker! :-o :-o :-o

:D

Greetings and salutations. But its okay, Im not that worried about rocks, most trolls can aim worser than. They can write sentences. That are rightly made up.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

(b.t.w.: your punctuation is a bit f**ked up...)

Thats the beauty of it, we ALL tried to help him, either to be ignored or told off.

Simply put, he's a turd.

p.s. exactly, for someone who's been using the Internet for 30 years, and someone who's been using computers since 1920, I'm shocked that his spelling/grammar/general writing ability is at a 2nd grade level.
If it sounds good it is good.

*Sigh*

Looks like I got here too late.

johnmorales, I can actually empathize with you, even though you came off as a flaming jerk. There are plenty of Sonarbots at the Cakewalk forums for whom Cake can do no wrong and if you dare suggest that, mmm perhaps there is something amiss with Sonar itself will jump all over and flog you mercilessly with the nice 900-pg printed Sonar manual. There is a kind of almost cultish groupthink over there which becomes pretty damn annoying if you're not one of the koolaid drinkers. I can see how this could have... oversensitized you.

With that said, you really do need to lose the attitude. There are people here who will actually try to help you, and even if they are misguided in some of their responses, GETTING PISSED AND FLYING OFF AT THE HANDLE HELPS EXACTLY NO-ONE.

Hope you get it sorted out.

JerGoetz,

The problem is that I don't think any of our responses have been misguided, seriously, go back and look at the flow of posts, if not anyone elses, look at mine. I responded to BOTH his different Sonar posts, and explictly asked him to

a) tell me which vstis were having probs
b) send me the audio files that wouldn't work properly.

and then notice how he completely ignores me, until he actually responds, and look at what he responds with.

If he's going to be a jerk to people who are trying to help him, I have no use for him, and will GLADLY go out of my way to harass him.

He ABSOLUTELY deserves EVERYTHING he gets.
If it sounds good it is good.

What you describe can be said of EVERY app-specific forum. I myself have been "flogged" at the Cubase, Samplitude, and Muzys sites for conveying a dissenting opinion. It's only "cultish" if you're on the receiving end of this treatment and can't shrug it off. Singling out Cakewalk as if they're unique in this regard only shows that you've either been flogged yourself there, or just don't get around to other forums.

I never claimed the Sonar forum is unique in that regard. It used to bother me, now I find it amusing some people decide to marry their sequencer. :hihi:

Actually, there is no real attitude. I appreciate what you wrote, but let me explain the method to my madness. :hihi:
I write in that style, because as you show. It makes people read it. I've posted a lot on news forums, and I always get the same advice. Coof off. LOL It's well intentioned and I do understand your point, but after people get used to my style (and I know it takes some adjusting) They end up enjoying it, because sooner or later. They find me defending thier position, and find me saying things. They totally agree with. Once that happens. I'm ok in their book.

I believe in fighting fire with fire. The lack of desire to fight back and defend with equal if not more effort is taken by many people as a sign that your position is wrong.

For if you believe in what you say, you will fight for it.

A good NON-Computer example is the political world. Where the Democrats have adopted your line of thinking and will NOT thrash back. When the Republicans trash them mercilessly. Has this advanced the Democratic side, has this made more people listen NO. They have lost election after election ever since Gingrich changed the rules to attack attack attack. LOL

So to are the rules similar here. I don't believe in ignoring someone who presents his opinions as unbiased. When he is clearly doing a marketing job for Sonar.

Yes I do know other people push other products. I never have read other people. Who prefer another product virtually repeat virbatum. What Sonar Cakewalk tech support told me, repeating it verbatum with NO real understanding of my problem. At least Sonar Tech support asked questions. LOL Even more obnoxious, I have not encounted supporters of other hosts try to use Sonar's maketing material as a weapon. To me this is not the same. This is just plain dishonest, and deserves a thrash back twice as hard.

I appreciate your opinion though.
