I'm almost certain I won't be buying any synths this year, even the highly regarded Zebra 3. I'm drowning in great synths and can barely scratch the surface of what I already own. The only gap in my synth collection is a fully-featured granular device like Dawesome Novum, but I don't really write music that leans into those kinds of sounds, so it's not really a priority.

I also doubt I'll buy much in the way of FX this year. Again, already overloaded with compressors, EQs, saturators, delays, reverbs, etc. That said I'm a sucker for muti-FX plugins, so something could always come along that interests me. But at this point there's nothing out there that I really want. Maybe a good granular effect like Dawesome Love or Sugarbytes Transfigure, but there's no urgent need.

What I may invest in are mastering and monitoring tools. There are some newly released mastering limiters built on new tech that may have promise. I'm changing my monitoring this year, so Ginger Audio Sphere might be an option. Plus any other tools that speed workflow are always of interest. Also may upgrade Komplete, Ozone, or some other package I already own.

I just don't see much currently out there that I want or need. Always open to something groundbreaking being released, but I haven't seen a whole lot of new interesting things coming out lately. Mostly just minor tweaks or improvements to existing tools or concepts.

Also, I need to get serious about buying a new car before the next round of inflation hits.

No to:
Reason Rack as a PLUGIN.
The main reason I use Reason Rack are some unique instruments like Friktion or Objekt, though they cost extra...
The main reason why I don’t do an upgrade is, it would give me one additional instrument which isn’t interesting at all. I’ll wait for 14 or 15…
I hope a coming version will support MPE and will have a better way to support off-line authorization…
I do welcome the new strategy. It will drive more people to Reason…
I have something better than Unify, and that is my DAW Bitwig, it covers all that Unify gives to users of less capable DAWs…
In short: no to Unify…
Then I say no to Bitwig!
(Just joking)
Sometimes i'm thinking on Bitwig, but don't really need a "modular ableton", and i don't really like modular synths. I've tried some and not my cup of tea. And already have 3 daws that cover everything, I rather stick to these.

On the other hand I've found another stuff I can say NO to, and that's Korg Gadget3.
It's more attractive to me than reason rack,
And currently also on sale,
but i have korg collection and that must be enough!
Also I can load FLStudio as a plugin, and FL really have many gadgets inside : )

I will start learning Zebra3 in the near future, it's so deep ...

Dont treat kvr like your profile wall, because believe me, not many (if any at all) people care here what synths you are going to ignore. Its a bit selfish and disrespectful to others to do that what you did.
It's democracy - everyone can have a list.
You get a list! And you get a list! And you get a list!

I spent several hours with the Beta. It's a great sounding instrument, but for some reason they made the decision to retrofit one of the most innovative oscillators to come out in years into a boomer-era interface. In terms of their synth products, U-he and I just have different philosophies about what constitutes a good UI.

Years ago I participated in the KVR “Buy Nothing for a Year” challenge. It was great!

Why? This seems to be anti-hype list. I thought the other site had problem with GAS, but you're saying this is actually the GAS site? :D

Well, for me it's easy. Not going to support companies that disregard Linux.
I have more than enough and I need a lot of time just to get to know well what I already have.
This self-imposed limitations seems silly, and maybe it is to a certain degree, but I think will help my rotten-brain to focus on the godness already in my hands ;)

Although lists are a good way to spark debate, I remember back when I first started creating tunes / tracks / songs (delete where appropriate) I had a Roland SH-1, solina string machine and a boss dr55. I found more pleasure in creating and coming up, with ideas with the limited equipment that I had, than I do now with a Daw and too many plugins that I hardly know how to program. Gas has in a way ruined my creative flow, be cause I can now turn to a Korg Triton vst or a Roland JD800 vst, even a good old TB303 (things I couldn't ever afford) For sure the advent and advancement of vst technology is good that I can now have a studio on my take anywhere laptop, I do miss the days of a 4 track portastudio. I no longer buy new vst's. I give freebies a go, but, I'm content now not to buy the latest thing that just sounds like last year's latest thing. Just my 2 cents, apologies if it is slightly off topic. 😊

Plugmon has great skins for Ace and Bazille that let you edit most functions without using cables.

If that is the criteria there are a lot of geniuses on KVR.
