Are the one time purchases for Zenbeats iOS free from a constant internet connection or occasional phoning home?
Interested in the one time unlock for this new app, but not of it’s tethered in some fashion.

I think (hope), it would be tied to your Apple account like other
Ipad apps (App Store). We'll see!

That's what I extracted from Roland support:tkmh wrote: Sat Jan 24, 2026 11:19 pm I think (hope), it would be tied to your Apple account like other

the basic GX version is free and in the introduction phase all features unlocked. But license / content / subscribtions / one time purchase etc. is managed by your Roland Cloud account. They did not indicate any iOS specific pricing. But it can be used offline.

To see how Zenbeats handles this:
- Logged in to Roland Cloud to access the Store
- “iOS unlock” is there, but I tried the free content “Mixtape” first
- Downloaded “Mixtape”, logged out
- “Mixtape” is no longer accessible
I can only conclude that Roland iOS DLC, even one-time unlocks, must be online only. I was already out at the “phone home every month” thing.

not defending Roland or anything but a good friend of mine just was forced to work without internet for way over a week this January (due to internet ISP switch) and he could work with Zenology GX on Desktop offline.conundrum wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:47 pm To see how Zenbeats handles this:
