It's all a big joke, until you see a Strat with a knife!

Wow, people are weird.

Main thing for me in a daw is, does it suit my workflow, are all the tools that I need there, do I get the job done.

But when I sroll though this thread, it does seem that the main thing for others is the name of the daw, how many updates they put out last year (even if you don't need any of it), is the upgrade price more than it was before.. everything costs more, if you didn't already notice.

What do I gain if I switch to other daw, I get the daw that has sexier name, may have more updates.. but where I cannot actually work, and get the music done. So was the switch good? Absolutely not. Use the daw that works for you, who cares about anything else..!

People whine about updates they put out last year because they PROMISED four MAJOR updates and didn't deliver four MAJOR updates.
They talk about the upgrade price because they should've received it for free in the first place.

But still... people are ready to throw their perfectly working daw, tuned to their workflow out of the window because of that? Only 3 updates intead of 4... Oh, and was the phrasing "three to four updates" so technically they keep their word. People need to stop acting so ruthlessly, sometimes plans change

I had a similar issue when upgrading from Studio One 5, to Studio One 7. When opening projects in SO7 that were created in SO5, my midi controller was recognized, but wouldn't play any instruments. So far I haven't sorted it out, but if I create a new project, the controller is recognized and works correctly. Could this be related to the issue you're experiencing? Are you opening old projects in a new version?
No it's consistent, even with a new project. I'm wondering if it's because 7.2 is still installed. Thanks.

Do one really needs to go all those terminal commands, chatgpt assistance just to install a DAW in Linux??

Not if you’re a 9th level Linux wizard with a +7 beard. Otherwise, yes.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Hopefully there are easier ways to install and set up Studio Pro or other DAW`s on Linux :D
I just found it interesting to see SP in action on Linux, and maybe it will be useful for some people.

Except the upgrade from Studio One v7 to Studio Pro v8. Upgrades used to be $149, now they are $99 but people still want to have a whinge. It's unbelievable, isn't it? It makes me wonder why anyone would get into the software business.

Not sure I agree with that. But I have not tested this myself (yet).

But if this was a factor - there would have been massive pushback across the forums out there today.

Not seeing a rampant surge of complaints of users opening prior projects.
