Nice update. It's still the Uhbik we know and love, except more. I'm really feeling the Ambience effect more than ever.

With Bitwig as my host, I thought the additional modulation options would be a little bit redundant. But being able to use a triggered AD envelope instead of a standard follower is a nice touch.

Thanks a lot for the free update! The new UIs are amazing - The layouts make more sense to me and I also prefer their visual appearance. I haven't used the old UHBIKs often in the recent years but with all the new modulation options now I'm sure they'll find their way into my projects again

Hi,

I am a bit puzzled about workflow and actual use case of Uhbik.
I've just bought it, and am almost about to regret this instant purchase.

For instance, given I already have Presswerk : why would I use Uhbik compressor ?
I also have a great reveb (MTurboreverb) : why would I use Uhbik Ambiance.
I already MTAutotynamiceq : why would I use Uhbik Eq.
I already have Satin which can do delay or color the sound, and what if I had Colour Copy ? etc

So, basicaly, I would be glad to give Uhbik its particular job, where it really shines, but I can't figure in which cases.
Could someone please help me not to regret this purchase and tell me : what is that specific job Uhbik is gonna do with brio. Is it the sound, the workflow, etc. Can all the modules somehow communicate each other (like the Satin group feature) for modulating one module parameter with other module value, etc).

ps : I would have used the demo version longer, but as they are numerous plugins, the white sound was triggered very often, I couldn't bear. So based on marketing arguments, I purchased it because I give value to u-he products. The same way I have bought Diva, just because it is a must have, discovering later that I could probably use only Zebra for my music. Oh and also bought Bazille, just because )

I tried demo (now sale at PB), though i did not collect enough reason (fortunately haha) to spent 140 bucks, but i noted some interesting moments in unpredictable places, like Shifter (not Grainshift). It can produce pretty interesting character, that i can't remember immediately that i could hear such in other similar plugs.
And +\- the same can say about bundle itself.
Nothing extraordinary, but some freshness in the nuances of sound. (Need say i never tried v1).

Regarding main suspects - Ambience pleased me lack of freeze (and ability of super long tails in general). And Delay calming me down by lack of un-pitched time modulation.
But if seriouslyl i really would not against to have this bundle, by some ocasion.

I really like the Uhbik FX collection. If you have awesome reverb, compressors, and EQ (i do imo) there is the Phase Shifter, Flanger, and Shifter. I get a ton of mileage out of the Phase Shifter and Flanger. Only have one other plugin that i use for that. I use the Gate and the Shifter when necessary and have used the Ambience and Delay a good deal. Sometimes it's fun to use the ones i have covered for a something different. Runciter is a beast indeed.
I got some early beta of the 2.0 and dig the revamped modulation. If you have all of these FX covered you probably don't need it. Get Bazille or Zebra or save money, don't get anything.

When I originally designed them they were most definitely on the extreme side of things. Surely today everyone is covered by whatever is inside their DAWs, and then gazillions of free plug-ins. But do these plug-ins go as far as Uhbiks do, with a 40+ stage phaser and a true thru zero flanger and a pitch shifter that can "slow down" your audio near 0 degrees kelvin?

And then we added modulation. This was always Soundtoys advantage in their equivalents, but their approach is very "you can do this, this or this with it", while our approach is rather open and modular. Which plug-in out there lets you duck (or gate, or sequence) the reverb or delay input rather than its output? Or modulate feedback based on external sidechain level?

Unfortunately we have not had the time to properly communicate all the possibilities and practical use cases, since Uhbik 2.0 was released during the hot phase of Zebra 3 development. We might have to eventually either increase our resources or free some up for this. Because I truly doubt that anyone has any set of plug-ins that do the same things already. It's just that some of the things one can do are so novel and out-of-this-world, people simply don't know yet that these absolute need them.

Input ducking/gating is a routing problem: put a gate/comp before the reverb/delay (on the send path or an FX bus) and you’re literally ducking the input. Many DAWs (especially Bitwig) make this trivial with device chains and modulators

Feedback modulation by sidechain can be replicated with hosts that support modulation/macro control of parameters, or by splitting into multi-bus feedback networks.

Uhbik is clearly overpriced.

So, host features. Gotta save channel strips for presets, not plug-in presets. Sample buffer accurate, not sample accurate.

Some companies would charge the whole price of Uhbik for a single plug-in, and then charge for updates as well. We haven't even asked for a cent for the 2.0 upgrade from people who bought a license 16 years ago.

You might need to factor that into your assessment, that often whatever comparable product is available for a better price than our stuff, you may have to pay later in updates.

So that 149$ is my definition of overpriced, but we all know this is just a fantasy price made up to lure people into thinking that 34.95 (the actual price) is a good deal. But is it a good deal? Because it sure as hell is still overpriced compared to Uhbik, which offers a much more capable plug-in at a better price.

I don’t think the bundle price is unfair in isolation, taken purely as number of effects vs price, it’s actually reasonable.

The friction is more about today’s market context. Most users already own multiple effect bundles that cover equal or broader ground at lower effective prices, often acquired over time via sales or crossgrades. At that point, the decision isn’t is this capable? but does this add enough distinct, frequently used value to justify another €200 at regular price?

Sure. From my perspective it's a resource issue that we might need to address. We have a lot of undervalued plug-ins because we are not a marketing driven company. Convincing people with substance is a slower and harder process than just paying for hype. It's not easy for an outfit our size to give each product the focus it deserves, and Uhbik 2.0 unfortunately collided with Zebra 3.

I am going to keep demoing. It seems you all cater to and like the tweakers a lot but I would of liked to see a lot more presets on the Uhbiks myself. I love going through presets really quickly and then dialing in the sound if need be. This was a huge negative for me honestly.
