I suspect that Kontakt at the very least will survive this, hopefully the whole lot will be picked up by someone.

Unless they find a buyer who wants the shebang, it's more valuable as part IMO. NI had a mare of a time trying to integrate it all. I don't think anyone else will be feeling luckier. Izotope has some good DSP, just lousy product management.mcbpete wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 3:24 pmThis is what I was thinking too - I was under the impression that, if anything, those were the two would've 'disappeared' first and be added to the Native Instruments brandCuauhtli wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 3:17 pm Plugin Alliance and iZotope are part of the mix as well aren't they?
PA's more of a problem as it's in a far more congested market. But there's a lot of stuff worth having. Who knows, maybe someone will think "this Wolfgang Palm stuff is quite neat, why didn't anyone do something with that?"

...and there was me thinking Gibson would be bad news. Thanks for the reminder.

Sorry, but I feel no pity for them...
This was a disastrous company to deal with since long long time...
Is there any way to still count how often they kicked their user base in the butt??
Now they get what they deserve...

"Bain Capital acquisitions typically mean a shift to private ownership focused on rapid value creation through operational improvements, strategic restructuring, and, often, high debt loads (leveraged buyouts). Companies often experience intense, hands-on management changes, cost-cutting initiatives, and growth strategies—such as acquisitions or new market entry—designed to increase profitability for a sale within a few years".
Sounds like A.I. swallowed a corporate speak dictionary. Reaching out in synergy going forward bla bla bla....
So just more of the same corporate gymnastics designed to create the largest profits to be distributed to the smallest number of people.
I feel sorry for the people who actually do the work as they are likely to be the first to go while fat cat executives sit in their oak lined offices patting themselves on the back for "increasing shareholder value".

Did anyone *not* expect this after some of their main developers leaving years ago already and after them selling out to Francisco Partners 2-3 (IIRC) years ago?

This was in early December. Did they not complete the deal (hence the insolvency now)?Vocalpoint Studios wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 4:05 pm More here..

Noticed that too. Odd how no one else noticed this post for over a month and half.Gamma-UT wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 4:22 pmThis was in early December. Did they not complete the deal (hence the insolvency now)?
Anyway - I have no idea who Bridgeport is or what is going on.
Just kinda stumbling through this like everyone else at this point.

I am very familiar with Bridgepoint (they bought the company that bought my company so very briefly I was working for them), FTSE 250, couple of Billion turnover...NI will be OK for a while (they will invest) before re-selling in a few years in whatever new form they have in mind...jobs may go however as they restructure, but better than insolvency!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Appears that Bridgeport now fell through and this insolvency announcement today - is the result.
