HALion 7

Actually, I may have found a workaround. If I can use the LUA script to manipulate keyboard tracking then I should be able to create a script that isolates specific notes which could then be used to simply lower the level at that particular note. Also for my general "broader EQ" fix the built in keyboard tracking + modulation mapper would possibly be enough. Unfortunately that window is so ridiculously tiny that it's quite hard to isolate specific ranges in it.
And Falcon is really not an option either as it's so damn clunky as well. I hate it with a passion! Granted, it is super capable but I just can't stomach it.
I've also just fallen in love with the sound quality of Halion. It just oozes amazing quality in terms of sound output. The wavetable synth sounds absolutely amazing, even at very high note pitches. Much better than anything else I have available.

Damn, it just sounds soooooo gorgeous!
Halion 7 wavetable demo (Google Drive, mp3, 990kb)
I used two wavetable layers (meaning 4 oscillators in total), which contain a couple of old ppg extracted wavs and one simple 'fast pwm' table from halion, layered it all together with carefully tweaked velocity/keytracking targets and a bunch of vibrato controlled by modwheel.
Sorry for the sloppy playing but just LISTEN to the crazy good quality all the way up to C8!! (at around the 0:50 mark). It's crisp like crazy yet no annoying aliasing or other issues. It just works beautifully!
There are ZERO effects in this preset. No delay, no chorus, no reverb.. nothing. Just pure oscillators + filters! No external processing either. Zero. Nada. 100% pure Halion 7 output.
Here's also the 16bit 48kHz recording in case somebody wants to hear the lossless version.
Halion 7 wavetable demo (Google Drive, wav, 17mb)
Now I just need to figure out how to save this as a self contained single preset so I can share it here.

This is why I can't stop talking about Halion. The quality is crystal clear but very robust without turning tinny and robotic (a la Pigments) although I love Pigments too.bmanic wrote: Wed Jan 08, 2025 3:55 am

I just bought Hallion7 and open it in my DAW. Everything is too tiny to read. I scan this thread and find this post.
-- EDIT --
I found information that this option is only visible when Halion used with CUBASE. Is that correct? I use Studio One or Reaper. Is there any way to solve this problem ?
But I can't find "High DPI Mode" in option page. I can't find even "Global Setting" tab in option page. Where is this setting? By the way, my display resolution is 2560x1600.IvyBirds wrote: Sun Jan 05, 2025 8:13 pmIf you are using a high resolution monitor like 4k or higher go to the Options Page then Global Settings and turn on "High DPI Mode" that will allow nice sharp and clear text while you are scaling the windows at 150% or moreDirtgrain wrote: Sun Jan 05, 2025 7:58 pm However you alter it, it is still a complicated GUI with hard-to-read icons/text. Stuff is tiny.
At lower resolutions than 4k like 1080p it shouldn't be an issue
I am in my late 50s and don't have the best eyesight by any stretch of the imagination doing that makes the text easy to read on all my monitors

You can find the settings as shown in the screenshot. If you enable it, Halion should scale based on the settings form your OS.NoriSato wrote: Fri Nov 28, 2025 9:52 am But I can't find "High DPI Mode" in option page. Is this option only available under Windows? I can't find it on MacOS.Held wrote: Fri Nov 28, 2025 12:35 pmYou can find the settings as shown in the screenshot.NoriSato wrote: Fri Nov 28, 2025 9:52 am But I can't find "High DPI Mode" in option page. I'm on Windows, so I can't say test anything MacOS, but I think scaling should be applied there automatically. Try changing your scaling display setting and see if Halion scales with it.muzicxs wrote: Fri Nov 28, 2025 2:42 pm Is this option only available under Windows? I can't find it on MacOS.

Yeah it's not on the Mac, the Mac has it 'built in' so to speak.
