What are YOU thinking about the Native Instrument news?

At this stage, I assume everyone is aware that the Native Instruments the firm has gone under the preliminary insolvency proceedings. There are many ways that could result in.

Being spent a few hundred dollars over the last year alone on some NI products, I feel a bit queasy. Would that mean I am going to lose some (or most) of that investment? How would that look like? Should I try to get Reaktor this year, as I have planned, even with this news?

To be honest, if a behemoth like NI could go under, what does that say about the rest of the industry? Should we demand open platform libraries, only-client-side copy protection (or, dare I say, no copy protection at all) for plugins, as consumers? That sounds reasonable, regardless of any news, to be honest, but could this news create enough leverage for demanding this kind of change?
