Yes, of course it’s free.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 3:31 pm Away from studio - It would be good to know if the upgrade to Logic Pro 12.0 is free (for perpetual license owners of previous version).

I was hoping for a more sophisticated stem splitter. Oh well.
Underwhelmed.

All my settings were reset, keycommands included. So beware and export them.

Go on bug hunt. Call it a new full version. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?

We still can't preview samples in the browser during playback. Do they not have anyone who uses their product working for them?

Worst big version number update ever, no way around it.
They must've totally lost it in Apple land.

Free upgrade is appreciated, but unfortunately, not the upgrade most of us would have wanted.

It is seriously ridiculous. Browser seems to be completely forgotten. With every update, it is what I search for in the release notes only to get disappointed.Fidelitymusic wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 4:59 pm We still can't preview samples in the browser during playback. Same goes for the library. Why can I create things but only delete some things and not organize any?LoveEnigma18 wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 5:51 pm It is seriously ridiculous. I love Logic.. really. But they are dropping the ball hard on finally getting their library browser up to date. What I want is the loop and library browser consoliidated into one and have a browser ala Ableton Live where we can tag, custom tag, favorite and search for sounds with a "sounds like" or "Similar sound" function.

Totally underwhelmed. No ARA is a huge mistake (again)! Also no Logic optimization for Apples own silicon core processers has left me scratching my head. They have had over 6 months to review and implement these often and highly requested improvements but now looks to have been ignored again.
Feels to me Logic is becoming more and more a cheap toy in order to attract a younger audience and the more experienced user and pros requirements are further down the food chain.
Seriously now thinking after15 years of Logic moving over to Cubase which is a real pity.
Logic could and should be a lot, lot more. They've taken their eye of the ball.

The marketing is better I guess. And probably silicon valley whispers dominate the SNR above what users actually want.Ploki wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 8:53 pm Why make QOL updates or fix bugs for existing features if you can cram another AI slop bullshit feature down our throats?
