4.1 Saurus has no issues at all. It is rock solid. It offers perfect sound quality in any samplerate. It also has extremely low CPU.
Please stick on the topic. It is about Saurus, not other products. If you want to discuss about oversampling start a new thread.
Apologies if I seemed antagonistic. We can discuss sample rates elsewhere if wanted, and I didn't mean to add to any negative claims - I obviously missed them.

I have zero problems with Saurus, or any other Tone2 products, and I am very happy with those I own (Gladiator, Icarus, Saurus). I don't think any suffer from CPU or sound issues, and my comments were purely around the wider audio ecosystem and should not be taken as being negative to Saurus or Tone2, as I think they are some of the most innovative and capable plugins around and Tone2 have always been responsive.

Back to the normal programming.

Any idea when 4.1 will be released yet?

Sorry @Markus didnt want to derail your thread and can second that your synths are working perfectly using 96kHz. Also no need to further discuss this in any way, as whatever works is fine. I studied audio engineering in the early 90s and witnessed the transition to digital, know the red book standard and all that crap. Sometimes, I still do get confused a bit, even after 35 years, I have to admit. :phones:

Anyway, thanks a lot for keeping all of your synths steadily updated and for interacting with us on kvr.

Tone2 Synthesizers wrote: Thu Dec 18, 2025 7:27 am To view the version number:
- Open the plugin
- Click on FILE->show version number
- It should say 4.1
What gets reported to the host is a different number. I still have 4.0 installed and the VST3 reports 1.0.0 to the host and the VST2 reports 3.1.0.0 to the host. Is that on purpose?
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Now I want to revisit some of the soundsets from Tone2 that I have.

Thread title is misleading, should be 'virtual analog'

It is after all, software

I was installing the older soundsets I have, and almost forgot about the Dark Toxic soundset.
It's one of my favorites along with the Synth Legends set. 8)
