AI features can be incredibly useful for many people. Seeing them rapidly evolve is to be expected. You might as well shout at the wind.

ARA is fundamentally at odds with how Apple has decided to design the memory handling of its ARM apps and 3rd party code. So it might never happen the way many want.

Instead, I would hope for Apple to develop native functions within Logic that lessen the desire for 3rd party ARA plugins..

Just being real here.
I wouldn’t. Melodyne is developed now and it used to work with logic perfectly just 4 years ago.
In 4 years they didn’t get flex pitch up to speed nor fixed this shortcoming.

I do not expect stock offerings to be as good as specialty third party tools.

Other ARM DAWs have this working and have no security issues.

AI as implemented is great for hobbyists but brings little value to professional musicians and engineers.

They used to have this down. Garageband was aimed at hobbyists and logic pro at professionals.
Now we get “synth ai player” while basic professional functionality such as ARA or AAF import is broken.

Well, Apple thought they had to fix a non-existant problem. Gotta understand that.

Even so it will probably be Sound Packs

And a new rhythm pattern for your virtual synth player.

Are there any more of the stock instruments and effects that have been updated to better GUIs?

Post

There will probably still be little useful improvements like long faders, track search with every version etc but I do not think we will ever see headliner features like overhauled Articulation System/Score or brand new Browser or modern Time Stretch Algos or ARA or some brand new feat that is not targeted towards AI crowd

Not that I'd know of. But I haven't checked everything yet.

What nonexistent problem was that?
Studio One // Bitwig // Logic Pro // Ableton // Reason // FLStudio // MPC // Force // Maschine

Possible plugin instabilities.
Ironically, ever since they introduced their new way of running plugins (outside of the Logic process), I was running into vastly more instability messages than before (or in Rosetta mode, which brings back the old way).

Had a slight meltdown over the fact that the Library browser was no longer showing all my Alchemy libraries - just a list of preset categories which is hopeless. However found the cause is everything in the Logic library is now relocated to a 'bundle' folder - on moving my old Alchemy folders to that they show up again.

Fwiw, I would not move anything out of or into that bundle folder. It'll cause Logic to think there's stuff to update.
Your own stuff can be located anywhere anyway.

So Logic 12 is a new application in the Mac App store? So do you donwload it and delete the old one? It doesn't replace it? What's the proper upgrade process here.

It's an update to the existing app, just like the last 75 Logic updates.
I hate signatures too.

Duplicate your current version, then rename the duplicate (11.2.2, or whatever). Now compress the copy. This way, you can go back to 11 if 12 doesn’t suit you.

So why do I now have two Logic Pros? One is 11 and one is 12. And the 12 version is asking for my creative studio license or something that I don' thave.

Also I opened V11 and there is no update option or check for updates or anything. And the app store had no update available for Logic Pro 11. It's still there and just says "Open". V12 was a separate app in the app store.
