I'm running Windows 10. Both the VST3 and CLAP versions load fine in Reaper. They also both load fine in FL Studio.Lbdunequest wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 8:19 pm ive just updated synth to the latest version obxf-2026-01-26-d02182c-Windows and plugin doesnt load, i get an error. The VST3 initially had troubles in Waveform, but that's because Waveform sometimes gets confused by VST3 plugins. I had to edit the WF settings files. Now it loads fine.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

After doing deep scan of plugins, now it works!

The next nightly (give it an hour or so) will have my attempt to disable accelleration when Shift+dragging. Also dropped the sensitivity factor from 0.25 to 0.1. I tested this against Surge XT mouse behavior set to Slow (which on Windows I find perfectly natural) and it's pretty much feeling about the same now. Let me know!Rivanni wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 9:32 pm Yes, there is acceleration. However, fast dragging is not something you do when you make a fine adjustment. It negates the function of the Shift key.
It's currently very hard to dial in a precise value. You must move extremely slowly and far (in actual cm, the mouse travels on my desk) to increase a value by, for example, a hundredth. If you move just a bit too fast (but still slower than you normally would), you overshoot.
The mouse movements should remain consistent whether you hold Shift or not. That's the point of the Shift key. It's up to the plugin to make the changes in value smaller. There shouldn't be a need to move the mouse more slowly and farther.
It would be even better if acceleration is disabled when Shift is held, so you don't overshoot with the smallest change of speed.
Anyway, it behaves differently from other plugins (including Surge), but in a bad way. My wrist can confirm.
(For some time later we may add options for mouse sensitivity, if needed, we'll see.)

It is impolite to say "got an error" without telling us what the error message said.Lbdunequest wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 8:19 pm ive just updated synth to the latest version obxf-2026-01-26-d02182c-Windows and plugin doesnt load, i get an error. Anyone else gets an error?

I think I know what it was, tho. We have changed the plugin ID to remove "-rework" from the name, so that required a full on proper plugin rescan in certain hosts like FL.

I just updated and have to say I preferred the calibration of trackpad adjustment before, it was closer to Surge. There was a longer range for a single two finger sweep of the trackpad. Seems like the default is for very fine adjustments now. Just my preference but I prefer the Serum/U-He/Synapse style calibration where a single sweep with two fingers held down (not using accelerated inertia) gives you a nice big sweep of most of a given knob range (maybe half to three quarters of the range).

Closer to WHICH Surge option as far as mouse behavior? There's 4.

EvilDragon are there plans to add some features like mod matrix or fx?
By the way generally it sounds a bit different then OBXD, was that the purpose? I thought it should sound exactly the same.

There's gonna be no FX added. Keeping it simple. A very straightforward small mod matrix will be there once we implement MPE, but that's only gonna be valid for MPE (apart for Strike and Press dimensions, which would also work when MPE is disabled).
As far as sonic differences, filters and oscillators sound identical from my tests. There's a detailed list of all the changes in post #1, so yes in a few places you can expect some differences (i.e. Crossmod knobs has 2x the range compared to OB-Xd, noise knob in the mixer has changed scaling to match up with scaling of osc 1/2 volume knobs, LFO has a higher maximum rate, etc.). This was a conscious choice to both allow some more "room to play with", and in case of mixer knob scalings, to ensure consistency.

I'm not suggesting anyone should do this, but the thought of creating a fork and adding a stripped down version of the Surge chorus, delay, and reverb has certainly crossed my mind.

How many forks does one need
