It's a little more complicated this time around, because apparently the subscription version is a separate app. I was able to update Logic as usual however.

e: Echoes, you should be able to delete the one with the new, simplified icon. Maybe rename it first and launch the other app to be sure.

However found the cause is everything in the Logic library is now relocated to a 'bundle' folder - on moving my old Alchemy folders to that they show up again.
Fwiw, I would not move anything out of or into that bundle folder. It'll cause Logic to think there's stuff to update.
Your own stuff can be located anywhere anyway.
OK I'll try the user location maybe

You dont need to compress it

It's free... and has a few things I'm happy with. So good update IMO.

Ok I deleted the new one. But how do you update the old one? I see no update within the app, and app store doesn't have an update. Or is this maybe one of those things that rolls out differently to different countries?

what an unnecessary complication

Was (positively) surprised of a huge amount of new Appleloops and patch packages, well my external SSD for Audio material still has room. Not that there's a 0.1% chance I will use any of this new material.

Just make sure you duplicate it and don't just rename the existing app.

Back in the day, I tried backing up Logic 10.7.9 before installing Logic 11. I renamed the "Logic.app" to "Logic 10.7.9.app". Then upgraded. It just happily installed Logic 11 into the existing "Logic 10.7.9.app".

Now when I run "Logic 10.7.9.app", it runs Logic 11. I no longer have access to Logic 10.7.9.

Maybe so. I went to the App Store and it said "Update" and I did and the app was updated. No second app icon

Go to the App Store, search for Logic, click on it to see the details, and the update will appear.
At least this is what worked in my case.

I posted the image of what happened when I did that.

That’s what I saw at first, too. I clicked on the photo, and it took me to another screen; that one had an update button, which worked for the update.

I believe they do this A/B rollout strategy with every app in the store, but you can bypass it. Go to the Updates tab, then "reload" the "page" (command R).
I hate signatures too.
