CEO response
“Please rest assured that business continues as usual at Native Instruments, iZotope, Plugin Alliance and Brainworx. Our hardware and software products remain on sale and available for download and activation. Our passionate and dedicated teams are here and supporting customers as normal. In product and engineering, we are continuing to develop and launch new products and features. Our NKS Partnerships team continues to process Kontakt Player licences and NKS Partner submissions.
We are working diligently and responsibly to secure a healthy, financially sustainable future for Native Instruments. As you may have seen, Native Instruments GmbH has entered a restructuring process in Germany, as have 3 of our German non-operating holding companies. In legal terms, we have filed applications to open pre-insolvency proceedings for those companies.
We are focused on providing continuity for creators, customers, and partners. We’ll continue to share updates as we have them.
I’m a lifelong musician myself, and have been a passionate fan of Native Instruments for 25 years. Our mission to inspire and enable creators to express themselves through sound continues.”
Already YT on it!

What can the yt vid say that isn't freely available to anyone who can read the CEOs statement?
I am so over content creators who look at any issue as a means to garner more views. How did all of this get so tawdry?

We have Battery 4 and Raum from them.
Any suggestions for replacing battery with? Would mainly need a multi-out sample player, that is better than ableton drumrack visually
Now Raum is a different one, nothing quite sounds like it.
Just thinking out loud, if those two need to be replaced grr...

Yeah, this is rough news, but it doesn’t necessarily mean everything just stops tomorrow. Insolvency is often about restructuring, and stuff like Kontakt is way too valuable to just disappear. Still sucks for users and third-party devs who’ve built so much around the platform.

Herein lies the problem, perception is reality...if people 'think' NI may fail, they stop buying from NI...then NI will definitely fail. People will be sceptical of any 'business as usual' statement from NI's CEO...they need something more concrete, and pretty fast.

NI filed a return of £250 of debt vs £25 of revenue in 2023.
How in the world are they going to make it out of this? I literally bought Kontakt two weeks ago lol fml.

I just think how you can put out so many popular plugins and then just wipe them off the face of the Earth. I mean not even have Legacy Installers so people can enjoy what they bought. I might as well flushed that $99.00 I spent for the last version of Pro-53 down the toilet.

The following video popped up on my YouTube feed this morning. I found it level headed and well presented. Apologies if it's already been posted but I don't have time to go back and check all the pages of this thread.
I found the information on the "Stop Killing Games" initiative particularly interesting.

yeah good question... i just wondering the last days - how the hell can they stack up such a big pile of debt? ... and how did they created it? Or why did they keeping it like that and not working on their finance maybe some years earlierdarkydisco wrote: Fri Jan 30, 2026 1:43 pm NI filed a return of £250 of debt vs £25 of revenue in 2023.

Don’t worry about the previous VC d-bags who made a mess of things. We’re already out shopping for new VC d-bags to fund the next several years of mess-making.

Been a while since I used Battery and I'm not a huge drum machine person, but Triaz is pretty great. A bit of a different animal. Obviously the libs won't be nearly as extensive, but IMO it's great to program and work with. IIRC, Tal-Drum is very similar, but not quite as extensive.legendCNCD wrote: Fri Jan 30, 2026 12:27 pm We have Battery 4 and Raum from them.

Personally I wouldn't panic. I doubt anything will change in the short term. You may want to start bouncing any old tracks you may want to revisit in the future, if you don't already do that as part of your normal production process.

At this point, they need another musical instrument company that is financially stable to buy them ideally.
If another PE company buys them and adds debt to the balance sheet again, it looks bad and might scare off the developers.
Once they lose the developers, it's a downhill run.
This in relationship to Kontakt mainly.

Exactly what does anyone expect a CEO to say? "We're going to take everything away from you that you paid for"?
Anyway this just popped up on Farcebook:
Okay now I have to get to the dentist before my tooth explodes......
