concealed identity wrote: Fri Nov 14, 2025 11:27 am Is there an easy way in Cubase to apply an effect to only part of the frequency spectrum? I think that is something that would be cool to see in a future version (I think I've heard people say this is really easy in Bitwig?). This was a regular part of my flow when I used Reason many years ago, but I don't do it as often in Cubase- usually using a bunch of sends/extra channels and filters. I feel like there's probably a more intuitive way already, but it would be cool to have something built into the interface to do this easily, or an insert that could split the frequency and load other plugins (I know Waves had a plugin like this, but every time they updated it, it got worse).
waves studioverse and i believe its free iirc has both multiband split and parallel split. can set each split up as mid, side, left, and right channels in addition.
^^^ multiband separation, KHS Multipass is a handy too

Both don't have linear-phase crossovers though. FL-Studio beats them all with their multiband separator.
^^^ yepp this why I've mentioned MB7 originally https://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Product_MB7Mixer/

let's say viewtopic.php?t=349785 :D read it or viewtopic.php?p=5149488#p5149488 back to FLS...

Or go with Melda´s MXXX which has not just analog and 2 kinds of linear phase crossovers but
- level
- mid/side
- spectrum
- serial
- hybrid
- panorama
- parallel
- and transient/tonal splitters...

with slopes between 6db up to 120db/oct and tons of other parameters wher it make sense...
I believe Melda has the most advanced multiband options...

If it´s necessary is a different question though :tu:

Yeah, forgot about this one. Would be cool if it could host 3rd party plugins.

Any rumor on Groove Agent 6 full? ETA? Is it safe to assume it will have all the benefits that are in Groove Agent 6 SE that is shipped with Cubase 15? Scalable interface, etc.I really love the new pattern editor, so I hope that this will somehow replace their super tiny pattern editor in v5.

The only word they've dropped is that it's in development.
What sound do dreams make when they die?

Steinberg announced a 30% off sale on Cubase 15 updates. I guess it's time...

What's different about the Nuendo group summing buses? (I've never used Nuendo).

Post

the feature is brand new to neundo 15

the difference is you can have folder tracks as per usual to group tracks - or you can use a different option to have your folder track also be a bus track. This is an option in both logic and studio one for example that cubase is finally supporting. My sample is the steinberg forums so take it with a grain of salt - but this is probably the feature that was wanted by all musicians, engineers, and producers as opposed to just one group wanting it - personally makes me very happy.

It's good in the arranger - but its super clean to have these folder busses in the mixer (mix console).

I'm having some bugs with some templates crashing on loading - ironically enough my more minimal templates. But after cubase gets running things have been super smooth. I'm also getting a graphical bug with entering midi notes in the piano roll and for whatever reason cubase displays the wrong midi notes in the arranger for a second - wrong pattern etc and then it graphically flashes and updates.

Yeah. Probably will upgrade now to Cubase 15 from 14. But in 2025 Steinberg was sale it with a lot of other bonus products which was super cool. And in the summer the sale was 50%. So, 30 % with some cool plugins in April and 50% in summer just the discount for Cubase. Now they give 30% just for Cubase... interesting... what will be in summer?..

Post

Yes the enhancements sure worth the 30% discount (It was 40% or 50% last year, wasn't it?!). Anyway, the folder bus is definitely worth it alone.
Oh and there is also a Wavelab Go edition!
