I was impressed by jcub's Chapman Stick playing on his song "Splitting Atoms", so I asked him if I could use part of the Stick audio on a song of mine; he said yes. I have been intrigued by the Chapman Stick since 1981, starting with King Crimson's song "Elephant Talk". I don't think I have seen a Chapman Stick in person, much less play one. If you didn't already know, jcub has collaborated with singer Jon Anderson on one song, and Billy Sherwood on a different song; both members of Yes. Anyway here is our song, that I named "Splitting Atoms or Splitting Hairs", it is the song on top. Please tell me how you like the song and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor (leave me a link if you don't have a recent thread). Here is my link:

Wow, now that's a collaboration I can really get behind. Sounds great. But no surprise there. Now THIS sounds like the old Aaron Aardvark. Really well done. Love the stick and love the synth arp. Oh and the lead guitar ain't too shabby either. Great stuff. Made my day.

I really enjoyed that ... The lead style reminds me of something David Byrne or Adrian Belew would conceive. I would have liked for it to have gone on longer, where the rest of the solo plays more in key to contrast the earlier dissonance. No biggie though. Is that a bit of enya I hear at 1:08? Shades of Orinoco Flow Lol.

Nice...very nice...

The collaboration works very well....everything in the piece locks together to create a great overall groove!

Mix is good...very listenable, but possibly a tiny bit muddy in those low - mid frequencies...just a little bit muffled down there maybe?

Thank you for checking out our song and commenting! I appreciate it! OrinocoFlow? I don't think that is possible. I have a special plugin that works with my Cubase to filter out any Enya music that's trying to work its way onto my tunes.

Sounds good. The synth parts compliment the live instruments nicely. I dig the use of the Wah Pedal as well.

I love this. Everything works really well together, the guitar, synth and stick really complement each. Vocals are great too!

That part starting around 1:15 is really cool, where things fade away. Love the punchy drums. The guitar solo kicks ass. Overall the tune has a great groove.
