Uncle E wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 5:47 pm Looks like you could get the Model 15 instead of the Model D. I still think the K-2 would be a better choice.
Model 15 only has one evn and I think 2osc?

Then why would it be better than Model D?

The Model 15 is 80 hp and so is the Pro 1 & 800. Therefore, will all fit the 3 tier stand you ordered.

Ah yes, but I would rather have a bit of spacing than worse sound or sound capabilities.

I had high hopes for the Proton but it failed me because the Oscillator out signal goes to hot into the filter making it sound distorted in a nasty way and there is no way to dial the Oscillator volumes back to get around it since the synth doesn't have Volume control for the Oscillators and using more than 1 Oscillator is also a pain because of the hot Oscillator signals.
False

Here is how to manage the hot oscillator levels on the Proton:

Patchbay Attenuation : You can manually reduce the output level of the oscillators by patching OSC OUT to an ATTENUATOR IN, and then patching the ATTENUATOR OUT to the FILTER IN. This overrides the default internal routing and allows you to tame the input level to the filters.

Use the Wave Folder/AM: Set the Wave module to AM (Amplitude Modulation) mode. Start with the Fold amount at zero and slowly turn the Fold potentiometer clockwise to increase the oscillator volume, allowing you to manage the gain staging.

jethrobull wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 3:03 pm I think they a slightly different in width. The pro 1 and 800 are 80hp while the model d is 70hp
(I see D-Fusion already mentioned this)
But in the stand description it says "70, 80 and 104 HP", so it should support them all?
I just received the stand 10min ago but didn't unpack it yet.

Synths will be here in 1-3 weeks.
It supports them all if they are all the same width

About 1m maybe. Long enough to go from floor to desktop here.

I know that already, but Model D will still fit but there is only going to be a gap on one side right?
Will it be fiddling around? I guess not since I probably have to screw it in on one side?

You can work around it but what if you need that ATTENUATOR IN/OUT for something else?
And how do you tame the volume between the Oscillators if you want to use more than one?
The Proton was not for me because of the lack of onboard volume controls for the Oscillators.

Model 15 has much greater sound capabilities than Model D.

How if it has only 2 OSC and 1 ENV?

I don't really care about sequencers and whatnot because I'm going to work in Logic.

It's a semi-modular with 48 patch points. It's B's version of a Moog Grandmother, basically a Neutron/Proton except with the sound of a Moog. It has nothing to do with sequencers.

I see some posts from 2023 about some issue with sample & hold, do you know if it was all fixed perhaps?

Yes, that's been fixed.
