Fender should do with NI like Gibson with Opcode!

I do wonder what happened to pride in ownership. I suppose it's the allure of having your own private island

Is there ever a pattern where major daws change hands and become successful or is it usually as a signal towards the end?

Well, it's been 5 years already under fender ownership. And how it's been..good! Funny how the talking starts this late... and only because of the name. Daw itself, the team behind it etc. everything has stayed the same.Touch The Universe wrote: Thu Feb 12, 2026 9:58 pm Is there ever a pattern where major daws change hands and become successful or is it usually as a signal towards the end?

Yamaha's acquisition of Steinberg didn't seem to hurt Cubase. And, of course, PreSonus bought Kristal Labs, which is where Studio One came from, so its not the first time it's changed hands.Touch The Universe wrote: Thu Feb 12, 2026 9:58 pmIs there ever a pattern where major daws change hands and become successful or is it usually as a signal towards the end?

That's good. There's still hope - especially since it's been 5 years already since S1 was shifting hands.

I hope and pray, and really do wanna feel, that FSP will continue to evolve, and also, the PreSonus hardware stuff remains in development.

Knowing Fender...there will be a flagship "Professional" FSP lovingly crafted in the US, a slightly less expensive "Vintera" one made in Mexico from leftover code, an even cheaper "Squier" FSP mass-produced by Indonesian robots, and...of course people will say the Crafted in China "Classic Vibe" FSP version that costs 25% of the USA one, that was only made for 4-1/2 months in 2007-2008, far and away sounds and feels the best.Grizzellda wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 3:32 am I hope and pray, and really do wanna feel, that FSP will continue to evolve, and also, the PreSonus hardware stuff remains in development.![]()

Presonus has had some good hardware designs over the years, hopefully that will continue.
