I find that difficult to read because of all the telltale signs that it was at least partially written by AI.
After looking at it again, I think you may be right unfortunately. I think he's not a native English speaker so that may be part of it.

I guess I overlooked it because I wanted to believe in the message. Ugh. I hate AI. I'll take this as a lesson to be more discerning.

Edit 2: though I do see how using AI in this way would be attractive to a non-native speaker.

I'll add that he still makes terrific Reaktor ensembles

I appreciate his enthusiasm for Reaktor but I just don’t see it taking off the way he thinks it will. For one a lot of Live user are using Ableton, why pay for Reaktor when you Max4L and that too has a massive community.

Secondly Reaktor is in need of a massive overhaul and I don’t know if NI would spend or even have the resources to modernize it

Hey folks,

Have not read the thread, but I would like to ask, and if any one could give some ideas here, as to what is going on.

So, when the sales where on a couple of months ago, I bought Komplete standard...it was on for half price. Is there anything I should know now? And what about all the lovely hardware that they make?

NI is in deep doo-doo. That's what's going on. What we don't know is how it will impact their offerings.

I would bet that our NI software will be working many years from now

Well, that is what I would be wondering about, quite frankly...

because having access to M4L (ie only if you have Live Suite or buy it separately, btw) doesnt preclude wanting to do it in Reaktor.
And perhaps because Reaktor comes with more immediately usable and hierarchy of low-level building blocks suited to creating audio devices compared to MAX. MAX, for example, has a rather complex set of parallel-but-separate technologies for doing things that arent entirely orthogonal (eg MSP vs Gen vs RNBO, and which ones of those are supported by things like mc~)

Hey look, I don't know what is going on with N.I. but I will say this...

I love their products, I tend to like smaller software developers, but Native Instruments is cool for me. I recently bought Komplete Standard at half price, and am gonna see if I can get the money's worth! :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

I have some questions IF NI servers shutdown/stop working:
  • Could we still keep using the "player" libraries?
  • Could we still authorize "Player" libraries and have them used in Kontakt?
  • Could Kontakt Full be installed and used without server authorization for the non Player libraries?
  • How about synths like Massive or Absynth?
  • How about if Apple updates their OS and Kontakt becomes unstable, will there be anyone to "fix" the issues?
I have invested a very significant amount of time and money in 15+ years in Kontakt ecosystem so this is quite concerning for me. (probably over 100k)

I guess answer is « NO » to each question…
No servers, no authorization…
But NI is not dead yet…

Ok. NI needs to give a safe answer in the case things really go bad otherwise I will be very careful in buying future Kontakt Libraries.

I imagine NI, PA, and iZotope’s sales have dropped off a cliff.

Yeah, I think no one would want to buy something from them, fearing that they may not be reachable sooner or later. Which leads to more financial problems for NI. It's a lose-lose situation for them.
