So far, I have stuck to my guns. No one synth/product for over $60. I think the next thing is that I need to "trim the fat" and escalate away from buying several companies' stuff and stick to a couple or a few that I already have.
Creating a favorites folder with what you are currently using, and subbing out or adding to the favorites gives it not only a conditional element, but shows you which way you are leaning in your productions and will most certainly evolve this way and the other. But, more importantly my newish avenue is to try to find a sound; and use this broadly if I am moving between musical genres (or will attempt to).
I also find it important to me to use only one or two "supersynths". Every time I venture off, so to speak, I always come back to Dune 3. Only speculation, but I am very interested in Dune 4. The fact that it does a lot of everything in either a basic fashion (sophisticated fashion) allows me to cover most ground if I so wish to do so- top that off with Genetics that's exceptional, which imo the best random preset generator there is to offer it's just too good.

Okay, I have to admit I have to modify my list, because i've found a second hand bargain for Icondrum and DMX so bought them. It was 25 Eur for both together, so it's kinda 12,5 each.
