EDIT: looking more closely there are only digital outs from daw, nothing analogue.
In this way not a full audio interface. So your remark is valid.

Thanks for that. I did try to resist, but inevitably ordered :borg: . Not sure the limited edition is worth an extra £20 though. You only get a PSU extra, right?

BTW the REDDI is legendary, and deservedly so. Still can't justify spending that much though, not since I stopped gigging and recording with bands. I've recorded a few jingles and I still can't beat my trusty old Trace Elliot (BLX) into the ART Levelar (to an SSL 2 interface), or a dbx 376 for more direct recordings. Best price/performance for the stuff I do.
I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.

I also ordered a Nobels ODR-Mini 2 and a Valeton GP-5 from Anderton's.
Ordered a Klon clone from China. Time to build my pedal board and separate the chaff from the wheat.

The Tone City Nobleman, a £25 on sale purchase, impressed me so much I had to try the Nobels.

Andertons have been doing some good deals lately. I ordered the ART MP/C from them, as well as the Steinberg IXO Recording Pack for £75!

I've been looking at the Nobels range and the ODR-1X is probably the one for me, so I'm keeping an eye out for deals on it. I can't get past the Hotine Grass as the OD to have on my mini board. It totally nails the sound in my head. I've never really got into Klons. Probably because, like Timmys, they are too clean/transparent for my taste. I do have, and really like, an EHX Soul Food but that's like a Klon that's gone though a washing machine.

In the end my main sale shopping was a couple of preamp pedals from this range:
https://ghostnoteaudio.uk/pages/transis ... acy-series

They are classic solid-state preamp sections with some minor additions: I went with the Sunn Beta ("Omega") and Ampeg VH140C ("Vader") based pedals. They are running into FX return of Blackstar Studio 10: so that's a solid-state preamp approximating a tube preamp while bypassing an actual tube pre-amp. The cycle of tech and nostalgia, eh? Only a matter of time until people are claiming they liked the Line6 Spider Insane channel :hihi:

But seriously these are really nice: the Vader is a really tight tweakable gain sound in a box and cleanup is not too bad either. The Omega is slightly lower gain with a powerful EQ and softer clipping; it works really well as a pushed clean channel to hit with a fuzz pedal and reshape the frequency balance.

Look at it this way, that's what Muddy Waters' guitar looked like in black and white photos:

The only trad single color Tele's color combo's I like are butterscotch and black pickguard.

Here's a thing I'm reminded of every day as I play my MIM modified player 2 which I also don't like the Hunter (Harvest) Green. The color of the body does not affect the tone. Everyday since I've gotten it I play it and 90% of the time the tone is right as rain to me.

After watching this video I'm convinced that the tele tone I'm getting will be

Yup, looks like a winner. It has a great combination of features. Here's what it would look like with a black pickguard:

I originally bought the ODR-1X and didn't like how it sounded. It felt a bit congested and lacked bite. I had read that it was based on the Anniversary edition, and that the ODR-mini2 is based on the typical bass cut models.

Ended up getting the mini2 and it's true - Much more bite/treble, more bass, less lower mids. I definitely prefer it.

I'm negotiating getting an hardcase for this budget red hollobody. A great guitar, it played perfect out of the box, no wonder the red and blue offerings sold out.

Well I have joined the club - just bought my first guitar. I was going to get a Jet JS 400 HSS but the JS-40 HSS MB won my heart with its looks.
