Not being totally self-centred or overtly Hedonistic, I derive equal pleasure from working on my own musical ideas, on my band-mate's ideas, on remixes and on cover versions of other people's music. Because it's not about me, it's about the music. It's quite sad that you don't seem to understand that.
Certainly experimentation is the heart of all creativity but there is a difference between intelligent experimentation (what does turning this knob do to the resulting sound since the subject at hand is synthesisers)
Surely you don't need to turn the knob to know what will happen? Surely you've been at it long enough that you know exactly what will happen? Honestly, it is about as exciting as changing the spark-plugs in an engine.
You could just ask Artificial Intelligence to make a piece of music for you but again what artistic satisfaction would that bring you?
If, at the end of the process, I had a piece of music I could enjoy for many years to come, it would be of far greater value to me than the momentary pleasure of having created something less enjoyable all on my own. It's all about results.

Think about it, when you apply your own self to making something, you get what you get. When my band-mate and I apply our combined selves to the same process, we end up doing things we couldn't possibly achieve on our own. That's why collaborators are generally more successful than loners who do everything on their own. That applies, to a lesser extent, with working on other people's songs or with other people's patches - you're not starting from the ground, you get to stand on the shoulders of others, which allows you to reach higher. (How deep and f**king meaningful is that shit!?!)

Yup, you surely you surprised me on this one... Either you asked chatGPT either we will need to do a doping control :-D.

I reported your post on the beta forum, this morning
Thank you Carrieres!
Did Richard say something about this? Dune has a very nice combfilter but not being able to keytrack it is very annoying.

How many LP filters does it have???

3 per voice (Filter 1 + Filter 1 FX + Filter 2) and if we count the 2 FX bus's EQ HC (2x), then 4 more.

3 x 8 + 4 = 28

But if you mean the different LP characteristics, if I counted right, 22.

DUNE 3 is very versatile. :)

Try the demo

If it had 7 or 700, what diff does it make? You have to decide if you like the sound of them, not how many there are.

with more filters I have a better chance of finding what I am after
If it had 700 it would be an attractive synth for me, if it had just 7 not.

Thank for your reply. Maybe I expressed myself incorrectly. How many LP filter types does it have? I am particularly interested in 18 dB and 24 dB filters. At the moment I am examining the 18 en 24 dB filters of my Logic stock synths but they do not sound the way I want so I am looking for other synths.

You're welcome! The filter types are described in the manual starting from page 40:

If it had 700 poor filters and 7 great filters, which would be better?

We have no idea what sound you prefer, which is why I always suggest trying the demo.

It is not about poor / great. It is about is about how they sound. More filters give me a higher change of getting a particular sound I am after.

To answer my own question:
I count 18 different LP filters in Dune 3 (Dune 1 legacy filter not counted). Satisfied with the sound of a few of them.

DUNE 3 Is my favortie VST Synth. :tu:

Any hints that we will see DUNE 4 in the near future ?
