The envelope sliders are so small I "miss" trying to click on them to move them 9 out of 10 times, yikes.

Thanks for your comment Jack ! I tried to create a New folder in Phonec 3, but it doesn't appear in the preset list. You can see it when you choose Save as but not in the load preset list.

Good to hear from you, Jack. I don't know why I got so worked up for, I don’t have time to try it yet, but I guess it was a case of GAS-induced FOMO, as usual.
Keep up the great work.

Could you maybe add an optional upgrade price, with 10 as minimum?jack [psychicmodulation] wrote: Mon Feb 02, 2026 4:49 pm Pre-orders:
If you sent in a request for a preorder upgrade, I will get back to you. Your $10 upgrade will still apply even if it's after release. As for non-customer preorders, it's still $59 until the official release. You can still use code PHONEC3PREORDER to get this discount.

Don't really know if that's possible with Fastspring, but I'll send you a PM.gaf_thit wrote: Mon Feb 02, 2026 7:02 pmCould you maybe add an optional upgrade price, with 10 as minimum?jack [psychicmodulation] wrote: Mon Feb 02, 2026 4:49 pm Pre-orders:

Thanks for responding here, Jack.
As for features that were removed, there are some. They’ve been listed upthread. It’s a bit frustrating, upgrading to a new version of software, then finding that in some ways said new version is less capable.
But I do understand this is a WiP. Okay. And therefore, I’ll just chill out for a bit. Phonec is one of my favourite synths of all time, so I got a bit “in my feels” there.

With regard to the filters though, I personally found minimal difference with the majority of these in Phonec 2.kvotchin wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 5:50 am As for features that were removed, there are some. That's very interesting, I think it depends on the patch indeed. Did you compare the Local radar factory preset between v2 and v3? I think that the SVF filter resonates very quickly when rising the resonance.

I was talking about the similarity of filters within Phonec 2 and why the amount might have been reduced for the new version. The SVF filter is noticeably different to the filters in v.2.4 and agree with your thoughts on the resonance but couldn't really comment on the preset as I don't tend to use them (and tbh, I usually back off the resonance when making my own patches so may not experience the filter to the fullest).jmonzani1 wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 8:45 am

Thanks for clarifying! 100% agree with you, I can't hear much difference between v.2 A, B and C filters and would love any of them in v.3shonky wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 9:22 amI was talking about the similarity of filters within Phonec 2 and why the amount might have been reduced for the new version. I hope G, H and Milk (Cascade) will be in 3 too. I haven't had a chance to download and launch v3 yet hopefully tonight

In regards to the Filters, the A-H modes were basically just alterations with cutoff/resonance response. I can take a look at presets like “Local Radar”, and determine what exactly made it sound that way, and maybe come up with a better way of doing that. Like an extra parameter that changes the filter in some way. I think this would be more ideal than a set of letters that don’t point to anything specific. That’s the main reason I left them out. For example, H I believe is simply a 6DB filter. So instead of that I just added a 6DB to the SVF options. I can expand on that and add a resonant boost if it makes sense. I believe P2 had a resonant 6DB.
Also, regarding Milk/Acid filters, yes those are available in Phonec3. Different designs but as close as I could get them.
When Milk/Acid are selected, they have their own 24/48db options. In Phonec2, it was confusing because they shared the same slope list as the other modes, so I had to explain in the manual “Milk 24 translates to 48, yada yada”. That whole system needed a new design. But there’s room for improvement. And from a more concise starting point, rather than trying to fix an already wonky system. Hope that makes sense.

This makes total sense and would be the best: the choice of poles/slopes is now very easy and clear in v.3. If an extra parameter could help getting closer to v.2's vibe, then that would be really ideal!

I pre-ordered but didn't receive an email on release last week. I have messaged Jack on Facebook and by email but have not received a download link yet. I know you're busy but Jack, if you read this and you need help with customer support I'll happily help you but please communicate because at the moment it's worrying.jack [psychicmodulation] wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 5:42 pm In regards to the Filters, the A-H modes were basically just alterations with cutoff/resonance response.
