Seen any mention of whether Audio Link is an open standard that other companies can use? If so, might be interesting to nudge devs like BlueCat (for Connector and FaderHub) and Plogue (for Bidule) at it.
An idiot on Set Theory:

No mention yet, but they did make the (Midi) Link an open standard, this seems like an extension of that to me...
Ableton Link is an open-source, free technology that synchronizes tempo, beat, and phase across multiple applications on desktop and mobile devices. It is designed to work over local networks (LAN/WLAN) without needing complex MIDI setups. The SDK is available to developers, making it a widely adopted standard for syncing music software.
Live have been on fire with V12, so many great free updates and so frequent, I can barely keep up!

Yeah, the tempo Link stuff has popped up in all sorts of other software and hardware, that's what made me wonder. fingers crossed.
also interesting that this is still an x.4 release, given that Ableton have traditionally added 'big' features to the x.5 release.

Ah, great, and cheers for posting that. Its only been an hour since I had a look at CDM, guess it must have been posted in the interim.Dalle wrote: Tue Feb 10, 2026 11:18 amAccording to cdm it will be.whyterabbyt wrote: Tue Feb 10, 2026 10:43 am Seen any mention of whether Audio Link is an open standard that other companies can use? I think there have been pretty big features in most of the point releases, V12 has been a goldmine for point updates, as well as tons of browser, editing and existing instrument and fx improvements we have had.whyterabbyt wrote: Tue Feb 10, 2026 11:08 am also interesting that this is still an x.4 release, given that Ableton have traditionally added 'big' features to the x.5 release.
Auto Shift (real-time pitch tracking and correction device)
Drum Sampler
New Auto Filter and Auto Pan-Tremolo
Auto-tagging for all samples by audio analysis
Bounce to New Track and Groups
Splice integration
Stem Separation (even of extracted parts)
Loads of really good packs - generators, sequencers, MPE chords etc..
PUSH 3 and Move have both had the same amount of love, PUSH 3 is really morphing into something special

Ableton really is cooking with 12. I have a Push 3 but now I really want a Move.
