Is it possible to connect the Hydrasynth desktop via audio/MIDI to the Syntakt and use the Syntakt to access the Hydrasynth's patches/sounds, and also use the Elektron sequencer with the Hydrasynth?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

I would say yes...
You would have to connect the audio outs of the Hydrasynth to the audio in of the Syntakt (if you want to monitor through the Syntakt) and connect the midi out of the Syntakt to the midi in on the Hydrasynth to control it.
The thing is, you'd need to give up a "machine track" (generating sound) on the Syntakt to use it as a midi track. I think only the Digitakt mk1 has dedicated midi tracks (because it had just 8 instruments, so the other 8 were dedicated to midi).

I have a Syntakt but I never tried the midi tracks (I have a Digitakt mk1 for that purpose); I don't have a Hydrasynth but I did that with other synths (to send CC driven by the Digitakt LFO).
free multisamples (last upd: 22th May 2021).

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, indeed, I'll have to use a piste.

But it's good to know that it's possible to make this kind of connection and that it works.

Both devices are quite normal in terms of midi . Setting them up isnt much different to how 2 midi devices have been setup for many decades .

Syntakt offers audio inputs ( stereo only unfortunately) that can route hydra synth through analog filter , drive and digital fx . You’ll likely have to turn the inputs on the mixer page

There are some config pages to ensure midi is sent out via midi din out .

You can also setup encoders on midi engine to send midi cc , and also sequence them on Syntakt.. plus it can send lfo to some midi cc

Thank you so much for your response.

That's excellent.

It opens up real creative potential and is a great combination.
