Any news on Spire new big update...? Or this is it? I mean I love it as it is - simple and fast to use, I am just wondering will it stay the same or there is something on the horizon?

I’ve not heard anything since the last one. Sad, really.

We’re actively working on a large update.
We'll share the specifics when we are confident about the scope and release window.

Bought Spire this past week, now setting up for a live gig tomorrow.kenny saunders wrote: Wed Aug 03, 2022 11:23 amHi!Teksonik wrote: Sat Jul 16, 2022 4:13 pm Has anyone else gotten stuck notes or perhaps more accurately stuck patches in Spire? It happened a few times in FL Studio but this morning it just happened in Bitwig.
All notes off or panic doesn't work but switching to a new preset will sometimes work but then switching back to the old patch and it's still stuck on a note. Switching to some other patches will also sustain the note. I need to work on it more to see if there is anything in common with the patches that get stuck.
The only solution appears to be to delete the instance and load a new one. This does not occur in any other synth I use so that would seem to point away from it being a system issue.
Anyone else had this happen?
Thanks for waiting.
Our engineers investigated the problem and gave the following response:
When Bypass is enabled in Cubase, the plugin does not receive commands, including the Note Off command, so the active note may get stuck.
We also found out that Cubase performs Bypass not according to the VST SDK specification: When the Bypass button is pressed, the Suspend function should be also switched on for stopping all notes.
Our test showed that several third-party synthesizers also get stuck notes in this situation, so we assume that it's a Cubase peculiarity. For example, Studio One does not have this problem.
The solution may be replacing Bypass with Mute.
We also considered adding a force stop button for all stuck notes to the next Spire update.
Best regards,
Reveal Sound Team
After playing a few chords, the KEYS KEEP SUSTAIN EVEN WHEN I RELEASE THE SUSTAIN PEDAL.
How come this is still an issue after 3 years? Or what did I miss?
Using Mixcraft 10 Home Recording Studio.
Is Spire not reliable for live music then?
Thanks for any help,
André

I reported the stuck notes issue in 2022. I don't remember if it was ever addressed. The response from Reveal sound you quoted above doesn't apply to me since I don't use Cubase and wasn't "bypassing" anything.
To be honest I haven't used Spire as much in recent times so I'm not sure if the stuck notes or stuck patches issue is still present here or not. It was a pretty random thing. I was using Windows 10 back then and now Win 11.
Hopefully the announced "large update" will address the issue but I have a feeling it will be quite some time before release.

From the manual:Essent wrote: Sun Feb 15, 2026 12:25 am Can you change the curve of the attack? Concave, convex, linear.
You can choose the curve type for each envelope stage by clicking on the graphic display:
ATT – Lin, Exp, Pow.
DEC – Exp1, Exp2, Pow.
SLT – Lin, Exp, Pow.
REL – Exp1, Exp2, Pow.

I use Spire live quite often and have not had sustain issues when using polyphonic patches. I am running in Ableton Live 10.
I do have sustain issues with Mono patches, though. I reported it years ago. I think they duplicated but last I checked (maybe last year, 2025), the issue was still there. I recall I had very easy steps to duplicate the problem.
I mainly use Spire for pads and polysynth, not so much for mono leads, so I don't run into the problem.

Looks like I mentioned the sustain pedal issue back in 2021. viewtopic.php?p=7999934#p7999934
I also sent an email. I guess I retested it in 2024, not 2025. All of my sustain pedals are busted, but I'll be somewhere with one later in the week. I'll try to remember and test it.
I'm not trying to knock Reveal Sound or Spire. I absolutely love Spire and use it all the time. It's one of the VSTs I mention when asked what I use. I try to get it's name out there.

Does the AI preset creation usually take a while? I started generating 16 presets at the moment. It's been at least 5 minutes so far. It just says "Processing..."
Eventually after a couple more minutes, Sonar crashed.
It would be nice to have some sort of countdown to show how far along it is.

I've only tested it a couple of times, but it was pretty quick when I tried it- seconds, not minutes. I think it uses an external server to process them (which is why there is a daily limitation for each user), so maybe there's some problem there?Examigan wrote: Fri Feb 20, 2026 11:58 pm Does the AI preset creation usually take a while?
