I'm in Reaper. I think it's enough if you tell me the settings and on which instrument you use it.Igro wrote: Thu Feb 12, 2026 2:57 pmWhat DAWs do you have? If FL-Studio, Cubase 15, then I can send you the test project.AGIGA wrote: Thu Feb 12, 2026 12:28 pmCan you be more specific? I'm really interested in this because I never got any noise or crackles with Townhouse. Do you use the VST3 version? Which DAW?DCrown wrote: Thu Feb 12, 2026 6:46 amI remember, that was so annoying, they still haven't fixed it? Townhouse is still crackling at some treshold settings.

The Townhouse setting from me won't work in your own situation, I guess. Anyway, test it on clean sine kick with a short to medium decay. Tune it to around 45 to 60 Hz. Townhouse settings: Attacks 0.1ms, Release 0.1, Ratio 4, V-Gain off. Make sure you have enough input gain into the plugin (but don't clip by looking at the Townhouse input meter). Then just slowly play with the Threshold. At some point the crackling sound kicks in. Use headphones. Many people don't realize it is there, cuz they use it on a busy bus channel (though I heard it first on a bus channel)AGIGA wrote: Thu Feb 12, 2026 3:36 pmI'm in Reaper. Thanks for the info and the settings, Igro. I will test this in the coming days. I usually never go faster than 10 ms attack (100ms release, 1:2 ratio) on the mixbus, with 1-3 dB of GR. I use similar settings as the the ones you mentioned to slam drum room mics, though (0.1ms attack, 100ms release, 10:1 ratio). But there isn't as much low end energy in those mics.Igro wrote: Thu Feb 12, 2026 4:28 pmThe Townhouse setting from me won't work in your own situation, I guess. I mostly mix on headphones and often crosscheck on my monitors. Also in Reaper you can listen to the "Delta" of every Plugin and I use this a lot to double check which instruments actually trigger the compressor and also to set the sidechain filter. So i would have clearly noticed any crackling with my settings.
What did the support tell you when you reported this bug? Strange that they never fixed it.

Yeah, like a Serum rack with RC20 effect units.
I wanted something like this back when they were charging way too much for the RC20, and ended up snagging Serato HexFX on a deal. I like HexFX but this one seems a little more focused on the lo-fi thing, whereas HexFX is a little more broad in scope.
I wonder if BX will add more FX units to it over time.

RC-20 has a reverb module and audio dropout module, and this one has a filter module and compressor module. Those are not insignificant differences.

This is a nice entry from Brainworx.
Although I can't help but think they missed an opportunity by not including a Mix control for the Drift module. As that would have given the user basic Chorus options as well. Some kind of Reverb/Delay or Delay capable of producing reverb like diffused repeats would have been great as well.
