Even better, try with "GROUP"... 😉

This update is pretty cool! Makes me wish they’d release an updated hardware version as well in the Blofeld/Pulse 2 form factor.

Before I install the demo, does the mousewheel work on knobs (with a fine tuning modifier) and on dropdown menus?

I saw Rolf's video and he seems to be clicking on the dropdow menus (e.g. Filter/LFO type) and then moving to the choice and clicking again to select. So unergonomic compared to using the mousewheel or arrows. This could perfecly be him showing the range of choices for demo purposes, that's why I ask.

Using a mouse with an undented scroll wheel (e.g. the logitech mx master series) is like having a mouse with an encoder; it's such an ergonomic enhancement for me that I have a very hard time going back to dragging knobs simultaneously pressing the left mouse button or doing two clicks plus one mouse pointer move to select the next item on a dropdown menu.

Fortunately this seems to be using JUCE as an UI framework, so if this isn't working the fix is just setting a boolean property on the Widgets.

Coming up with drum parts that change and evolve -and not just with some probability/polyrhythm shenanigans- is always much more efficient and precise when done in a DAW sequencer- for me anyway, and given that the plugin has adequate modulation/automation options.
Right - the cool thing about having an onboard sequencer is the same thing for some like having sound presets. It's just inspirational and can also show what can be done.

First I'm hearing of this plugin. Cool.

Ok. I installed the demo. Does Waldorf have some way to send Feature Requests? it would be basically like this:

Make (mostly) mousewheel-only workflow usable:
- When using knobs, the "Ctrl" modifier doesn't move in finer steps as it does when dragging.
- The mouse wheel doesn't cycle dropdown menus.

On 3-4 year older versions of JUCE I used this fix on the JUCE forums. It might be supported natively now.

For the dropdowns It is just calling "SetScrollWheelEnabled" on the ComboBox.

As it is now and as much as I want to buy it, it doesn't suit my workflow. The good news is that this is literally a 5-10 minute job with JUCE.

Nice! Basically you can now have only two Drumsynths - BabyAudio TEKNO and Attack 3. Former for that analog vibe and the latter for that digital feel. Both are very CPU friendly synths.

That's about 15 years in Waldorf time.

If I hadn't had a disc with Waldorf software included with some old hardware long ago, I can't say that I would have even seen that name once in the last 25 years.

I wouldn't have been surprised if someone would have seen the thread title and thought it was a cheesy horror movie.

I hope not :) . They use to do some point updates near the releases. Then the fix doesn't require UI layout changes and is (really) a 10-20 min job that then can be reused on all their JUCE plugin range. The only problem is that I don't know which channel to use to communicate it.

I have used Attack since the FM7/Pro-52 times, so it would be neat to have the MouseWheel working. I can't stress enough how much of a difference makes using plugins with an undented mouse wheel vs dragging knobs.

Some drum synths have built in Sequencers for those who want them and can easily be ignored by those who don't. Win-Win.

As for Attack, I haven't had it installed in quite some time but the upgrade price to version 3 is attractive so I'll give the demo a try.

I'm not a huge fan of the GUI but I don't hate it either so that will not be an issue.

EDIT: Okay so I'm trying the demo. I like it and the upgrade price is pretty much no brainer so I'll pick it up at some point from the JRR Shop.

However unless I'm missing something there is no way to point it to our custom drum sample folders. That means any sample you want to use will have to be duplicated into Attack 3's own sample folder. As someone who has many gigs of drum samples that's obviously not an optimal situation. Hopefully I'm just missing something obvious.

Try a symbolic link, it's just a workaround but works wonders.

Well in principle seems not a bad (although not a super by UI too, but could be much worse lol)
Mainly i was afraid about update spoiling v2 fx section (i like his reverb), but no, did check in v3 seems the same algo.
