Most people live without a VST mixer, because they don't need it. Most hosts can do anything you possibly could want: volume fader, pan, basic EQ (as a plugin), fx sends, all on each channel. Some hosts are more cumbersome than others.
What host do you use? Any specific feature you want?

Yeah, but some of us Tracktionheads miss it so badly. However I don't know if that's daniel's case.

Ok, Daniel-, I read all your posts and you are raving about the absence of a mixer in Tracktion in nearly every one of them. Also the CMX844 is not good enough for you.
Tracktion does have everything you expect to be in a mixer, except it does not look like a real mixer. So close your eyes and get used to it. You can adjust all volume levels, pannings etc with the standard filters on the right.
If you click on the little A on a track you can change all these levels during the song, like moving the faders in the middle of the song. Yahee, automated faders!!

I've always been intrigued by that one. How do you get midi notes or audio clips into that? It seems not to have a midi or audio editor... Has anybody ever really used the SpinAudio virtual mixer?Rajah wrote:Spin Audio Virtual Mixing Console

Hi C00kie,
Well, i tried the demo version of VMC and i like it so far. It is mostly meant for Live performance.
There is no audio playback, recording or MIDI editing facilities in the application itself, instead it relies on you inputting and outputting audio through your own soundcard ASIO routinng. So you can route one or multiple inputs through the application, apply some EQ or some VsT effects and then output the final mix to Asio outputs. It can also handle VsTi so you can play your own instruments live and it has some Midi learning abilities for you to map your midi hardware to VMC controls.
That is what it basically is.

Apparently yes ...scuzzphut wrote:wasn't there a Tracktion skinned mixer on TracktionFaction?

But it looks like the CMX844 has a bit more to offer, and that one was ditched already by Daniel.
