I heard about this name, but never heard one of his hits. Will look.

At this present moment in the current timeline of our strategic roadmap, Waldorf Music is not actively planning to implement this feature; however, please rest assured that your groundbreaking suggestion has been ceremoniously placed into our state-of-the-art Idea Forwarding Pipeline™, where it will continue its important journey toward Potential Future Consideration Excellence.
Pretty much....

To be fair the same thing was written by what appears to be a flesh and blood creature farther down the response but it's kind of hidden in a bunch of other text, some of it in German.

"currently there's nothing planned in this direction. But I'll forward your suggestion to the developer for further evaluation".

Custom file path with session persistence is something I would have brought up five minutes after the first private beta dropped but maybe I'm an outlier in this regard.

I like to layer drum samples with synth drums to create more varied and thicker sounds.

Igro wrote: Sat Feb 14, 2026 11:37 am Nice! Basically you can now have only two Drumsynths - BabyAudio TEKNO and Attack 3. Former for that analog vibe and the latter for that digital feel. Both are very CPU friendly synths.
Battalion beats them both 😛

First thing I noticed. No outlier. I had to do the symlink thing.

Another one is the browser not remembering the last visited location, neither global nor per oscillator.

But I have to say I was very satisfied seeing the browser livd-previewing/changing sample with a single press of the up and down arrows, when they fix the engine dying it's going to be good. Ideally it could do one click/press live preview and only replace the actual one when pressing enter or on double LMB click.

budweiser wrote: Sun Feb 15, 2026 6:12 pm Is it me or is the LFO-> attack mod still broken ?
I did check, seems just some specific dependency by mod waveform in attack segment case. It works with the noise and s+h forms, but with rest other really couldn't reproduce modulation. IDK why that.

Upd
And seems the same for other Env segments (hear mod from noise and s+h only).
That strange, because in general lfo simple waveforms are works, if for example check it at pitch of osc.
Yeah, same here. True to the original, they even pushed the bugs forward to this new iteration !

But in general i liked.
Seems this is first update after passed PPG3 and Largo for me.
Regardings by sound, refreshed in mind with checking quickly tho - but was no feel that it outdated, in contrary did catch good kick imo, even with some hardwarish in character.
(Btw knew some guys, pretty popular german group, they used Attack old version in their very good industrial album, along with big hw modules studio.)
Upd
Forgot to note big plus - yes this is still zero eating btw.

Yes this was an instant upgrade for me. I have been using Attack for years. The upgrade price was quite fair at $29 EUROS.

Post

I briefly tried it last weekend (after purchasing the upgrade blindly... ehm...) and I had issues with the comb filter killing the audio output, especially on pads other than the first one. I tried a few times but I didn't find a consistent sequence of operations to reproduce it (but it happened very often/quickly), so I didn't report to Waldorf yet (I'd like to fill a bug report that makes sense, but last weekend I didn't have time/energy to investigate further).

Anybody having issues with the comb filter (especially with "comb minus")?

I was actually considering trying their demo, but the fact they are using an "AI" system to do customer service puts me off completely. I'll stick with my ancient attack install that I've been using for 20ish years, since the new version isnt much different anyway. I simply dont do business with any brand that engages in that fraudulent tech, at any level. Coupon codes or no coupon codes.

To be fair to Waldorf their reply did appear to include a response from an actual human employee named Claudio although it was hard to see at first:

They did respond in one business day so that was excellent for a large company so I wouldn't let their support prevent you from buying the plugin if you wish to do so.

I have the same philosophy for any company that uses "AI" trash, at any level, and I dont care how they explain it away. I just fired my car insurance company after a 12 year relationship because they tried to push me into chatbots and made customer service much, much worse, so I instantly canceled and found another carrier.

And really, this isnt much different from attack version 1, which I already own. This isnt something I would feel compelled to sell out my ethics on, in any case.

Love it, glad it was updated, instant replacement for Battery, and most other solutions. I'll probably still use XO to find the sounds, then drag them into Attack for processing. Not thrilled it's only this light theme, but it's not a deal breaker.

Hi,

from the screenshot I do not see any AI messaging. Claudio is a real person I actually know personally and the wording is purely human. Could you please clarify the alleged AI message from Waldorf? I like to see it. Or was it maybe a summary modern mail readers like the latest Apple Mail does on their own?

The answer itself is neutral just stating the fact, that the requested feature isn't currently in development (which is not surprising for a new major update just released a few days before) and the request is forwarded to developers. This neutrality is very typical for German mentality.

I have the same feeiling too; that when they nail the sample browser issues, both usability and stability, it's going to be great for my use cases.

A single-key-press live preview is something I value a lot in a sampler and that I don't have it nailed since the Impulse tracker days.

BTW, I found another nice to have feature. Sometimes the volume of the loaded samples is low compared to the Oscillator's, so it could use a gain control in the sample window.

Another one would be to be able to layer samples in the same oscillator on e.g. the default mode while leaving the other oscillator free.

And last one for letting the start offset going negative, adding some delay.
