I've been having this looping issue with shaperbox 3 for the longest time (please help?)

trying to get it to loop and retrigger with each retrigger.
I have a software inst. track with the instrument and add shaperbox 3 on it and click the "audio" and "looping" mode on in the plug-in.
for some reason, it only loops when i hit notes above E5. Anything below that, and it just continues to cycle through the envelope continuously unprompted, like it's in synch mode.
How do i fix this?

Right next to the Audio tab on the bottom is a gear or whatever - it opens the settings for the 'global audio trigger'. You can try messing with those options. One sets the minimum frequency at which it should trigger.
Edit: oh I see. It seems to depend on the audio going into it to begin with. The peak of the new note you press may be masked and it's not registering. One possible solution is to sidechain the signal you want to use to trigger the envelope.

yes, that was my theory too. it must be volume dependent and is not detecting the low notes? i've tried messing with the gear options and set the threshold to the lowest setting, and it still doesn't work with lower notes.Cuauhtli wrote: Sat Feb 14, 2026 11:40 pm Right next to the Audio tab on the bottom is a gear or whatever - it opens the settings for the 'global audio trigger'. i'm aware i can do the sidechain method, but i'm trying to expedite my workflow. Would be nice if it worked as advertised and i can just slap it on and go. I don't have issues with any other retriggering plug-ins like this. Is this a bug or a user error? I can't seem to find much info from others with the same problem, but you replicated it.
Thank you for your input.

I think they figured the sidechain would suffice and didn't bother trying (or were unable) to solve the issue. One suggestion would be to set up the sidechain and then save it as a track template and then load that as needed. Not ideal but may help a bit.

It would be quite helpful if there was a gain control for the audio detection. I should send a feature request. At conservative acoustic instrument levels, the level in the detector is much too low to get consistent detection. When I use an external sidechain and increase the level before it gets to shaperbox the detection is much better.

Hi! There is no frequency restriction that would prevent the Audio Trigger from reacting to notes below E5. Perhaps the sound you are using has stronger transients on the higher notes.StarSMASH wrote: Sat Feb 14, 2026 11:22 pm trying to get it to loop and retrigger with each retrigger.

Also note that Audio Trigger is for detecting transients, not musical notes. So if you are shifting between notes using legato (ie, without retriggering envelopes), for example, then there will naturally be no transients on those notes, thus no trigger detection. Similarly, sounds with a soft attack such as pads will not register as transients.
Regarding the Audio Trigger settings (accessed via the Cog icon), please try minimum Threshold, Detail at 100% (this controls sensitivity of the detection), Algorithm on Complex (the most sensitive transient detection algorithm), and Input Filter on its default settings to start with (double-click in the middle). If that picks up the transients, you can adjust from there to refine the response.
If your input signal is very quiet, you can try putting a gain boost before ShaperBox, then a gain cut of the same amount afterwards. And put ShaperBox before any effects like reverb, delay, etc, as those can cloud the transients.
Another approach would be to use the MIDI Trigger option, since you are using a virtual instrument. You just need to route the instrument's MIDI source to ShaperBox too and select the "MIDI" button.
If you still can't get it working, please email us on contact@cableguys.com and we will help!
