Which is nothing really. You could play live with 1.5ms.Vortifex wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2019 12:01 pmAll the 'zero latency' modules have 1.5 ms latency according to my DAW.RPH wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2019 11:41 am Quote: "Each plug-in included in the Coral2 suite comes in Standard version and an alternative “ZL*” version which operates at *zero latency and is thus suitable for use when tracking, at the cost of extra processing resources."

I can hear what it's doing obviously, it's not subtle at all really.. I just wasn't that impressed nor think it would be that useful to me. Each to his own...

Coral is just insane as a master bus EQ. My new fav.

I decided to try Coral Baxter, and one question popped up immediately after installation: what is the difference between Coral Baxter and Coral Baxter ZL?
I get that ZL means zero latency, but what internal differences do they have? And why 2 plugins instead of one with switchable look-ahead or whatever different is in their implementation?
I got rid of almost all Waves and Chaos Audio plugins just because each plugin has 2 or 3 versions.

After you see how carelessly Acustica totally litters up your file system, you'll probably want to go back to Waves.VladK wrote: Tue Feb 17, 2026 10:05 pm I decided to try Coral Baxter, and one question popped up immediately after installation: what is the difference between Coral Baxter and Coral Baxter ZL?

Yep, I saw that. I do not use the default location for my plugins, I copy every plugin to my own filesystem hierarchy. Acustica just sits in its own directory. Still does not look pretty, I have to agree.billinder33 wrote: Tue Feb 17, 2026 11:32 pmAfter you see how carelessly Acustica totally litters up your file system, you'll probably want to go back to Waves.VladK wrote: Tue Feb 17, 2026 10:05 pm I decided to try Coral Baxter, and one question popped up immediately after installation: what is the difference between Coral Baxter and Coral Baxter ZL?

For me, Maxxbass is the difficult one to replace, along with the rider plugins.VladK wrote: Tue Feb 17, 2026 10:05 pm I got rid of almost all Waves and Chaos Audio plugins just because each plugin has 2 or 3 versions.
I find Waves more invasive. Multiple versions and various locations and the Waves server runs in the background when using them. Updates are paid, on Mac, some of updates can't be avoided. Over a 10 year period, how much could be paid to keep a decade old $29 plugin up to date? I get it, they have to make money.
Acustica lets you choose what format you want to install via Aquarius.
No upgrade fees, free transfers up to a certain amount. Customer loyalty discounts.
Regular sale discounts. New improved tech being constantly developed.
Acustica plugins sound better to me, sampled analog. Third party devs, like AlexB and Tim P are creating amazing products that can be compared to hardware. Nebula 4 required. N4 can occasionally be bought on sale, discounts can vary.
Acustica locations - installation app - AppData/Roaming/Acustica
downloads in AppData/Roaming/Acustica/Aquarius/Stagearea - downloads can be backed up and transferred to a 2nd machine for no large download when installing.
and Program Files/Acustica
The downside, Nebula 4 is expensive when not on sale. More CPU usage might be required. Acqua plugins don't need N4 this to run.
Grab their freebies, definitely worth a try. Do a full mix using only these and compare......
Adding a preamp on each channel and bus helps with minimal effort.
