I noticed that most audio plugins are kind of boring, and I love video games. So I made my own plugin thats meant to be more interactive video-gamey. It even has unlockables and a secret arcade game hidden inside of it. I'm curious if people would be into that sort of thing like I am???

It's called Sound Soup!

Absolutely not. If a tool like this (The Echo in Reason):

is not seeing you engaged in your Craft, the Art of your Scene & Story ie Song, there is something wrong. Not wrong with the way that audio or music works.

Gamification is never the solution to anything. Even in games. I avoid the silliness that gets in the way of killing monsters. I avoid games that focus on costume changes or leveling up weapons in shopz. I go to slay, not to goof about semi-randomly. Otherwise, it is like going to a Slayer concert only to be faced with K-Plop Demon Shillerz.

Learn your Craft - or move to something that you do like enough to really learn. Note that learning is not 10 Tipz n Triz Tutz as that is gaming. Which is why it fails over and over as there is no understanding, merely rulez of gameplay not related to reality.

All the best.

Nah, I'm good.

On a serious note: So you made a plugin with an extra inconvenient GUI. And that is a good thing to you? Why? That's like designing a hammer that ensures half of all attempts to hit a nail will fail to make it more "exciting". Sure, it works as a joke and if it's free. But other than that - no. Just no. If you want to make a tool, make it useful. Inconvenient controls are never useful, not even in a video game.

Come up with an audio plugin that solves an audio problem instead.

As a joke it's okay and to learn a few things regarding GUI programming. But let's be honest - that's not a tool, it's a toy. What do you want to do in your DAW, play games or make music? Playing with GUIs is not making music.

Here's a better GUI-related idea: A plugin that enables you to create your own custom GUI to control other plugins via VST and MIDI automation like FL Studio's Dashboard/Surface with formula support. It could come in a raster and vector version and you have the option to import your own graphics.

Most definitely no. Hard no. I don't do games for starters but even if i did, not while i'm making noise. But if it works for you, great.
I don't find most plugins boring, far from it.

So additional stress while trying to polish my turds then? Yeah, that's not for me.

Fl studio is basically a video game. I'm not dissing it as I use it.
