SUNO is the new sheriff in town.
Can you beat its productions?
They sound cruelly awesome.
Perhaps we should stopping production.
Or shouldn't we?
What can we do in these changing times?

Post

Dear sir, these are good questions, but I have no idea.

Just demo it.

So there is now a musician in town that writes songs better than me? Nothing new for me. I will not stop making music :)

Yeah , suno is killer. But you dont have any rights, those belongs to the company.
And if you upload your original tracks they can use it anywhere.
You dont have the fine control over details like in a daw.
And what do you do exactly? You are writing prompts to an AI black box. Other hundred people write the exact same prompts like you and receive almost the same results.
Good luck with writing prompts if that makes you happy! I will continue to make music in the traditional way, and its just a matter of time that the existing daws will use more and more AI functions, that really help music making.
OTOH I also demoed Suno Studio, but because its not that sophisticated or detailed, i will not use it anyway.
I can make equally exciting tracks in the traditional way.

I will not use an AI, that rips off my ideas. Only a local AI like openclaw. Besides, I like playing around just for fun, no need to make money.

I did. And I listened to examples from others as well. The results were not good by any means. None of the examples would qualify as good. The artifacts are so horrible it takes me one to two seconds to hear if something has been generated with AI. The best compositions made it into the meh category - nothing interesting, nothing I haven't heard a thousand times before, just with even less tension/release. The instruments are useless, the timbres are all over the place, constantly morphing. Performances are robotic, it's not possible to replicate human push-pull at all. The mixes are ridiculously bad with unstable transients, weird lowpass filter effects on cymbals and collapsed stereo fields (Holes between L, M and R). There are tons of serious issues. Suno is not a sheriff, not a deputy - it's that smelly weirdo with developmental delay who sleeps in a barn, unable to speak, only repeating words you say to him. He might be harmless but it's still not a good idea to make him the sheriff, he's likely to blow his head off by accident five minutes after you gave him a revolver.

But hey, maybe you solved all those issues via prompt injection. So let's hear one of your examples.

Simple user error.

If you get a user error rate of 100 %, maybe the tool is the problem, not the user...

So let's hear your example. Your really good example that features interesting composition, delicate arrangement, passionate performances, great and real sounding instruments and a well done mix. Without any artifacts of course. You claimed there is a new sheriff in town, now go get him.
