Looks interesting but the lack of a demo really puts me off

No.

Only a couple of them use samples, looks like. Beatfader and LunchTable.

Not trolling, but isn't that what the SYNC knobs are for?

I'm talking about attack, release, drift. Do those connect to the synch knob in some way? I may have missed it in the manual.

Yes. Attack and Release will when "sync" is active; if you mouse over them without "sync" active, they show as "free" and have a numeric value. With "sync" active, they show a multiplier.

Drift doesn't sync, I guess as it's inherently random?

I can't even see mention of "sync" in the manual, but I also can't see mention of it in the very limited changelog. I only bought it earlier and played with it for about 20 minutes so far, but really digging it; it's definitely its own animal.

The Sync knob isn't in the original picture in this thread's OP, so it must have been added after my comment requesting this feature. Glad they rolled out this feature, time to get update.

The new solo feature, macro controls, and the osc/filter visuals are incredibly helpful.

The usability went way up with this release. Just an incredible device!

Yea, impressive update!

Has anyone gone for the DRUW (or whatever) pre-order? I'm a bit torn myself, as I don't own
an ipad or other appropriate device. Not super interested in using my phone either.

I looked at this. Same issue, no ipad, and I'm also not really a drum machine guy. Prefer to work with samples and MINI in the DAW's arranger, so not really the target audience for that kind of device.
