I saw there is a Random sample "button function on each pad. I can press it, and it randomly selects a sample within a folder (if there are more of them in a folder). Really nice. Because I already have folders of samples, each folder is organized by an instrument name. So this works well for me.
My question is, can I somehow automate all of them in a host, like map all of them at once? Or is there a global random button with the same function?
The idea here is that I have one button with which I can press it once, and it loads "random" samples to all of my selected pads - at once. So one press - a new random kit every time. Lock function would be cool as well, where you lock a pad and then that pad is locked, and the sample is not affected by random loading.

First time posting in here I think, so, hello!
I'm the guy that suggested the recent implementation of a negative sample delay to Patrick, which he kindly implemented. What a nice man he is!
I am pretty much strictly a Tal Drum user, but I decided to annoy Patrick further by showing him the drum tuning in the ADSR Drum Machine, which I think is an awesome way to tune drums, and not something I have seen anywhere else.
It displays the the drum sample on the keyboard scale, and allows you to (very) quickly tune the drum by grabbing the waveform at the fundamental (or the closest piano key to it) and dragging it to the key of your choice. Fine tuning can then be done if necessary.
quick video showing this:
For years I have been carrying out the same visual process using an eq/analyzer, alongside the drum tuning knob. But here it is, all in one little display, and carried out for the most part, with one click and drag.
Patrick has again, kindly taken note, and will consider this implementation if more people want it.
Would any others care to take a look, and support this (imo, rather innovative) feature?
thanks
Dan

I bought TAL-Drum this week and I'm using it in Reaper. Liking it so far. Is there any way to default the template so the SAMPLES folder and the last folder you browsed is already selected when you load it up? It defaults to the KITS section.

TAL-Drum v2.9.6 (VSTi3) doesn't show samples from third party! This is on Linux CachyOS running Bitwig. I can't also drag and drop the samples from Bitwig browser to TAL-Drum! Sure there is a bug but don't know what is the cause! I tested it on Reaper as well, and nothing is showing.

It only shows samples when you have the SAMPLES tab selected. You have it on KITS.EnGee wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 8:25 am TAL-Drum v2.9.6 (VSTi3) doesn't show samples from third party!
Surely there must be consensus by now...

The same in the Samples tab:
In Windows 11, however, it is fine!
