Thank you for this from the Absynth 6 thread (didn't want to clutter that up).

I had to page through 9 pages of search results for Massive X that returned other threads, it is clearly a reference point for sound quality (and NI policies and business practices).
Your welcome. This way I too can reply back and say your welcome without doing the same. Will keep the link up for a few more days.

So, is MX cooked? No more updates into the future?

Anyone using it as their main workhorse synth?

I'm thinking of riding the tiger, warts/bankruptcies and all.

Every time I use another synth I think "it doesn't sound as good as MX".

Post

My assumption is that MX is now as good as it's going to get. I'm not expecting any further updates. It's not my main synth but it's the best sounding synth plugin I own. It sounds to me like a flagship hardware synth, and the effects rival or surpass some of my third party effects.

If there was a beta, people couldn't talk about it...

This is a rare instance of good vagueposting.

Maschine got an update in the last few weeks so there’s no reason Massive X couldn’t get one in the future. The trouble is Native Instruments are so secretive compared to companies like U-he that we have no idea what they have in the pipeline, look at what happened with Absynth :dog:

They should be secretive because they never deliver on anything they promise

Massive X was just updated to 1.7.0 and this is probably the biggest improvement: "Exposed all parameters to host automation." Such great news as it was restricted to the 16 macro knobs.

They're tidying up NI. Do what people want and money/support follows. Good news.
First and foremost: We need great songs (again)

Finally. Good to see there's life in the old dog yet.
