The best option is to get the SRX you want that are always priced close to this sale price and add the edited XV 5080 Bin file to the SRX plugin :tu:

Doing it that way will give you A Expanded XV5080 with the chosen SRX bank included in the plugin.

I wish they had added all the PCM's in their JV, XV, SRX plugins so you could Edit the Bin files so you only needed 1 plugin for all the SRX + the JV or the XV Bank.

I prefer the faceplate of the JV, so I may be a maverick and grab it, and then convert over the additional XV banks.

Also, the RCM has 4 patch collections for the JV and 1 for the XV.

Since Roland (sadly) decided to discontinue the Sound Canvas from their Roland Cloud collection, I think due to old coding that they felt is not compatible with their current coding used in their more current Cloud Plugins, how likely is it that they would re-code the Sound Canvas, and re-launch it on their Cloud Collection ?

If this is not going to happen, is there a good VST alternative emulation of the Sound Canvas i.e. the SC88 Pro by another developer ?

Thanks.
(I would not be surprised if some of Soundcanvas samples would be the same as in GM midi bank built in Windows lol since this is Roland made too. But ok just thinking out loud, but i wouldn't refuse to grab Soundcanvas too, just for collection)

Every time there are deals I reconsider getting the JV/XV VST. I have an 880 and 1080 in hardware and have wanted software, but can't get myself over the RC requirement. I need something I can trust for live performance where I don't have Internet access. But at this price, it is really tempting to go for the 5080 and finally get my software 1080.

Roland Could very easily make a Sound Canvas Zenology Instrument as sound canvas was just a sample based Rompler. It's doubtful however if they ever will

I never tried this one, but thought I’d leave this here:

Just checking...

it seems the polyphony modes in the Jupiter 8 don't follow the hardware...JP8 can do 8 voices, unison, 4 voices (doubling up) & monophonic(?).

The Roland Cloud version can't do 4 voices which is a shame. The JP4 and Juno 106 have several voice count/unison options.

You can set it to 2, 4, 6 or 8 voices from the “Hamburger” menu on the top right?

Yes, the Cloud JP8 isn't a two layer emulation (unlike, say TAL's or Cherry's). You'd need to layer using your DAW or another sub-host...

Huzzah, you are correct! I was looking on the panel and in the manual only.

Sorry to hear this, did that end up resolving the issue?
I would imagine uninstalling your software resolved the issue caused by your software.
Just trying to see if i can help and if its a bigger issue we need to be aware of.

I really appreciate your engagement here and trying to help but unless you write the code there's not much you can do. Passing issues along to people in the company who apparently do not care is a futile gesture.

I think it's been made pretty clear in this thread that many do not like the Roland Cloud Manager in its current state so unless it changes the complaints will continue.

My biggest problem with the Roland Cloud Manager is it's really convoluted and difficult to find what you're looking for. Why are there so many navigation menus? I'm looking at 4 on the page right now.

Why is "Software Effects" found in a submenu under "Software Instruments"? Effects aren't instruments.

But my main problem doesn't have anything to do with RCM. My main problem is I want to be able to buy a lifetime key of the BOSS Effects Pedals plugin, but that still isn't possible. I absolutely will never "rent" software, because I will absolutely never use any plugin that I don't have a permanent license for. I am not ever going to commit a plugin to a production if I can't count on being able to open it in the future.

If Roland decides they no longer want to be in the plugin business, then every song that uses a "rented" plugin will no longer open, and all of your work is trashed. With a perpetual license, at least the plugin will still work, even if Roland discontinues it. So no, I will NEVER hand over money month after month for software that can be yanked from me at any given time and bring down my entire work history, leaving me with nothing to show for all the money I spent and work that I did.

We are not able to care about issues we do not know about. I was merely asking if when reinstalled, the issue occurred again. I have seen no other reports of this, and it sounds pretty big. We elevate catastrophic issues constantly and do updates to fix them; we just released an update doing exactly that. Roland Cloud has issues that need fixing; I am constantly acknowledging this and reporting all of your feedback, even when I am faced with people being rude to me. That does not mean that every issue people encounter is because of Roland Cloud Manager or Roland Cloud software, and it is important to know when users have recurring issues like this if it’s us or something else.
