a need ? i can´t answer you that.

The way i work is so differently than what most other people are doing.
I´m not into track production works.
billinder33 wrote: Sun Feb 15, 2026 9:46 pm Generally, I understand that consolidation of tools into a single tool can be beneficial in cases - mult-FX, synths with multiple osc types, channel strips, etc. But I'm rarely using the processes this tool provides (mostly as a last resort) and don't think I've ever applied multiple of them to the same source.
I´m not too much a fan of consolidated function blocks either. And myself totally used to just take the single function blocks, but full fledged, and just chain these.

In this case, i found it to be a win to have several functions put into one single plugin.
I have all the other TBT "plugins" for example ( but not the analog clone ones)
billinder33 wrote: Sun Feb 15, 2026 9:46 pm Is it a tool consolidation play? Radical sound shaper?
yes, there is more to it.

one example:
- take the SnappySnap LE (free) single plugin host (or take even the big one). Which allows to morph two states of a plugin (all parameters). I had a test going. That was great ! undoable with a bunch of single plugins.

Having these different functions blocks within one tool will help to learn to understand these tools, and how to combine these functions. IF one already knows all of that. A chain of single plugins might work exactly as good.....or even better ?

All in one, it´s side by side soloable / mutable........compare ! That´s very helpful for me. It has a high "learning effect" to me.
I had so far a hard time to understand where these resonance peak limiters could be of help for my sound. With F-MB did i immetiately see where to apply what. i found it just intuitiv to operate

so, the question: "what can it replace ?" is one.
But the other is: "how can one gain a better access to such functions IF one is not already totally used to it ?" ..........That´s a point ;)

Even though a comp is the last thing I need, I would like to demo it. Was'nt TBT Plugin Alliance before?, I am glad they obviously left this group and present it on a website of their own.
Look reminds of Farbfilter, not promising as far as I am concerned, can't remember when I used ProQ the last time, though (is it the gui?, might have to ask a shrink), the comp's features make me curious, though.

I LOVE it as a CC mapped Filterbank for manual live jams ! HolyMoly
( to notes: requires to be able to set min-max values for your CCs )

i´m really stoked how good it was sounding on such a jam. Very unexpected settings were spitting out great sounds while jamming. It´s so so fun to see how much we can form sound today with all these ITB tools....for example old loops we already have ( and know!)

For me it´s not the quest to get the best sounding sound. Cause that does not exist in my world.
My quest is to make sound "formable". Make it Clay.

It felt completly different than any Filterbank i´ve dealt with. All these additional dynamic settings help to shape the sound charakteristica. This plugin here has a very unexpected side to it....if wanted.

I´m thrilled in fact.
But then: i patch in GP (live play host). And NOT in DAWs.
But this jam showed my how you can throw this thing into wild settings and make things sound good. This has creative potential

That's a great idea! Damn it.. I've been holding off on the demo as I've got a backlog of work to be done first. Softube also finally fixed the Console1 midi implementation so that it actually works on the mk3 controller so I have a great midi controller to do some live jamming with. Damn it damn it! Don't feed my GAS!!!

Yeah, backlog, haha

When you come to it, maybe try it first with some material more on the percussive side.
Things that have bass as well as pinchy highs.
When it is more about to form a single sound, rather than to work "against" a mix. To make something fit in.

To treat bass vs. lower mids on percussive stuff,.......upper mids vs. highs......and "then" to bring these two ends into a balance vs. each other. Make sound feel like clay.

=> I find there becomes the soul of this tool quickly visible.
With the spectral treatment in place, up *and* down at the same time, is it like if it gives another axis at hand that we can deal with.

Things start to become inspiring, intuitiv. That´s what triggers me so far with this tool.

Ok, i definitly found one main usage: ( quasi doubling my post two above or so)

running it right now with some Electro Drums.
Its my go to "to jam" Filterbank. Period

- 6 bands
CC mapped to HW is:
- Gain per Band ( it has +- 30db per band)
- crossover frequenzys ( requires to CC map two parameters per band / connecting the right side to each band = 5 crossovers. Which works for me for everything)
- so, 6 faders and 5 knobs occupied on my HW controller
( it **requires** to set min/max values per CC)

Everything else adjusted to taste by hand.
Super inspiring to deal with it in that way.

- "Time" is an issue vs. jams, and only having two hands.
- And now i understand why Fixed Filter Filterbanks never really worked for me !
The "fixed" in "FFB" is what i don´t like :hihi:

it seems to be slightly buggy. Minor things. Everything was in conjunction to CC mapping vs. DAW automation, and now some few slight oddnesses vs. GUI when jamming.

i try to imagine this was a HW box i just bought for $3K, and ask myself if i would be happy then ? Yes, i would ! (if i´ve had the money sort of easily available)

to notes: i have a 43" Display in front of me.
So great to just look at this plugin nicely sized and just jam away. Yes, i want to see whats going on on a display ! And now imagine what size a display said $3K HW Box would have ?.....it would just suck, haha.

yes, i WANT to have the dynamisations of the bands be part of the deal.
Not felt any need to CC map these out too. Is it for adjustments or to jam with that too.
Great plugin ! Yeah, i´m triggered in very positiv ways. Super inspiring to deal with.

should be sold for $79, and just sell to EVERYBODY then. Cash in by selling in numbers.

Oh my goosh, this one *really* just looks like a FF pro-MB clone. To a degree that putts even me off.

And it´s quite CPU heavy.

sounds awesome with electro Drums, tho
