Hey, I'm knew here and had poor luck finding help on Discord (likely my fault), but could anyone here help give me advice on how to recreate this instrument? I'm still quite new to sound design, so if I sound confused about a couple things, I apologize.

I use FL Studio, and have the VSTs like Sytrus, Toxic Biohazard, etc.

I am trying to emulate the drone that begins with the few bars (plays along side the drum kit). It has layers of sound to it, I know, but there is almost a vibrative almost overdrive like quality to it? It's slight dissonance? sound that I'm trying to replicate. The song is Silent Fields of Openfields for the game Little Misfortune, song by Isak Martinnson.

Thanks for any responses!

Sounds like a (Hammond) organ through an amp.

I thought organ too. I didn't think the effect was done with an amp, but that would make sense! Are there types of amp effects in particular that might be responsible for that type of dissonance effect?

Regardless, I appreciate it!

I think you probably described it yourself. It's a simple organ sound that is driven/overdrive with some vibrato
How original

Maybe I wasn't specific enough. I meant a guitar amp. It sounds exactly like an amped-up organ, which was done a lot in 70s rock for example (I'm old, so that's why I recognize that sound :D ).

In Sytrus, try using a saw wave with a slight detune and run it through a low-pass filter with some drive. It gives that gritty, vibrating feel you're after. I used to spend all day in FL Studio before I got back into competitive play. I even decided to sell skins CS:GO (https://lis-skins.com/) to fund some better VSTs and hardware.
