Hi there,

I'd like to consider myself something of a just-past-early-learning-centre Reaper user. Mixed a bunch of published tracks. Forked the Mackie Control plugin to enable the use of ultra-wide mini LCD displays as an extension to said control surface's crap LCD matrix display. You know... normal Reaper user stuff.

Only the other day, while working creatively as opposed to technically, did I stumble on to the fact that every channel in Reaper's mixing console exhibits a dedicated attenuation meter. For the sake of demonstration I added a bunch of the included ReaLimiter, which does report to said meters, with absurd settings such that all the attenuation meters flickered, here:

https://organistsonline.org/reaper/reap ... meters.mp4

As a person who works/mixes/records both with ears and eyes, it would be wonderful if Melda's MCompressor (which I use everywhere) and other dynamics plugins could report to the very same system.

And the more blinkenlights the more the customer believes you're doing something really important. :)

Would love to see it. Literally. Hopefully an easy implementation. Thanks in advance.

System is throttling the link until I make five posts. Number 2.

Post three.

Intestestingly one can get Reaper down to 64-sample latency at 192/24, and choosing one's plugins carefully one can get down to ~5ms roundtrip latency - the equivalent of standing 5 feet away from one's amp - given that sound travels approximately one foot per millisecond at STP in air.

Post four.

Another useful metric (no pun intended) is that light travels at approximately one foot per nanosecond in a vacuum, and not that much slower in a medium such as air.

Post five:

Please let the example video of Reaper's atteunation meters live.

Not a REAPER user, but want to share the love for MCompressor. When I mentioned MCompressor in a topic at VI-Control and how it helped me break open what compressors really do and how to set them up, I had at least half a dozen other users say that their experiences were similar. That dynamics display just has something that no other compressor's dynamics display has.

I've been pleading with MeldaProduction for at least 10 years to include that display on their other compressors, but it's still not happening. I contend that its inclusion would especially help MModernCompressor to see more adoption.

+1 I would like to see that implemented also. I've seen some third party plugins that do this in reaper, including TBProAudio, brainworx, and I think Waves.

Melda plugs have these "cool scientific" type of features!

But still, Grizzellda asks, "where is Vojtech"?
And Linux !?!?
