Niels461 wrote: Wed Feb 25, 2026 12:18 pm Hey folks,
I made a little plugin called Prism-Bit and I’d love for people to try it. It uses images and GIFs to shape sound in a spectral way bright pixels pass audio, dark ones block it, so you can make anything weird or interesting.
It’s just a fun effect, not a synth or sampler. You can load images or even grab the current spectrum and turn it into a mask. There are some built-in animated presets too.
It’s Windows VST3 for now, macOS/Linux is planned.(Linux and macOS support will be coming at the same time, both builds launch at full release).
If you want to play with it, Prism-Bit I’d be super grateful for any feedback, ideas, or just weird sounds you make with it.
Code: LOVESOUNDS
Thanks, and have fun!![]()
Just took a glance at this, looks real cool. How about CLAP support at some point? Also what is your current view on VST 2? Because I notice support for VST 3 basically.

If I understand it correctly, then it seems that
Blinksonic° - https://www.blinksonic.com/
might be considering joining the Linux Way.
What do you think about this comment?

Blinksonic° is mainly known for its creative NI Reaktor Plugins. They release some really impressive glitch-art-inspired sound tools, synthesizers and sample-based instruments.

Just a shout-out to @NWSM: I really appreciate your effort to push Linux for audio production. I only dual boot into Windows for making music, everything else I do in Linux, which I much prefer.
Linux desktop is niche, audio production even more so. Economically it probably doesn't pay off immediately for developers to support it. All the more I thank all developers who *do* go the extra mile. I hope this gains even more momentum.

But it’s getting better, year after year. There are more Linux audio users than there ever were in years past.

There indeed was a huge leap last year which is also steadily continuing this year. Definitely a good option for professional music production. This is a pretty good site giving a visually appealing overview about whats available native so far (quite some new stuff should be added soonish).

A Collection of 20 Spartial, Ambisonic (3D-Audio), Binaural open-source audio plug-ins.
Support the 3 most used OS
Mac, Win, Linux
"All Ambisonics-related plug-ins conform to the Ambisonic Channel Number (ACN) ordering convention and offer support for both orthonormalised (N3D) and semi-normalised (SN3D) normalisation schemes (note that the AmbiX format refers to the combination of ACN and SN3D). The maximum transform order for these plug-ins is 10th."
These plug-ins are restricted to lower order Ambisonics input.
Use of REAPER is recommended because of the Multichannel capabilities.
These Tools are Special.
