@wagtunes, when I was missing ROMs I didn't have all the ones listed there.rafa1981 wrote: Wed Jun 04, 2025 6:02 pm I could find my error. I was missing some of the roms here.

Not enough time to teach you a full degree on Digital IP international laws, but take care about what you say as absolute in terms of IP, as each country has its own.

Sorry about the link, guys. I wasn't thinking straight when I was asking for help about using the ROMs because I just installed the plugin at the time and wanted to get it working. I didn't realize the plugin needed real hardware.

Real hardware? Hell, no!SmeckoGeck wrote: Tue Nov 25, 2025 7:18 pm Sorry about the link, guys. I wasn't thinking straight when I was asking for help about using the ROMs because I just installed the plugin at the time and wanted to get it working. I didn't realize the plugin needed real hardware.

So I may have purchased a JV-880 after having fallen in love with this emulation...
as it stands, is there any way whatsoever to be able to export or retrieve patch data from the virtual JV plugin/standalone app? I understand there has been a longstanding request for midi out for editing purposes and compatibility with patchbase and JV PatchEd, which would make this easier, but it doesn't seem as if midi output would be the only way to get patch data out of the emulator.
Is there any way to dump the contents of the "temporary area" of the virtual JV as sysex or other data? I realize bulk dump does not work without midi output, but I have to believe there is some way that the contents/settings of the active patch in the temporary area could be exported, or perhaps the patch in the temporary area could be saved to the emulated internal memory, and this data in turn could be retrieved somehow?
I'd really love some way to use the virtual JV to create patches and then have a way to play these patches on the hardware JV-880 without reproducing the settings one by one on the hardware (or with the JV Patch Ed).

What is "Exp Custom" under the list of all cards? I found four more BIN files for four SR-JV80 cards online. I put them in the BIN folder, restart the plugin, but they are not detected. "Exp Custom" seems to suggest that something else can be added. How can I make the synth recognize these additional cards in addition to the main 16 cards? And I'll share these four BIN files with anyone who needs them

It was intended I believe to support people using third-party tools to make their own custom expansions. I don't think it's fully functional yet, but the devs might chime in on that one.
The card BIN image checking is hard coded into the plugin, with checksums to make sure the images match, so your other ones likely aren't supported, whatever they are.

IIRC checksum verification is not happening for custom ROM expansion.

Highly unlikely. Maybe in the JD-990.

I’ve seen that Giulioz made an update on Github, so is it realist to hope sysex load in a near future? It would be so nice to import some old presets![]()

I managed to get it working now after some fiddling. I downloaded the correct bin files but one was missing as it seems, I had to add a file called "custom.bin" by hand to get it finally to work. I copy/pasted one of the existing bins and renamed it to "custom.bin". Working.

This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.
