Is there a feature that you would like to see in any DAW but is not there yet ?

I tried many DAWs, but until now I couldn't find one with a piano roll where notes have 3 possible levels when entering a note: low, medium and high.

Depending on how high you click on a note, the note will have a certain velocity entered.

Basically the rectangle representing the midi note is divided into 3 vertical parts for the 3 velocities

Especially useful for drums, but also to quickly write a melody that has some dynamics without having to work with the velocity lane

I know some DAW have a feature that allows a user to enter a note velocity by clicking on a note and dragging up or down to enter a velocity, but that's not very precise for entering a specific velocity and difficult to enter consistent velocity values across notes, not to mention that it's not very fast.

There are some drum sequencer plugins that have a similar feature, but again, the vertical values are not quantized, it's a vertical bar with too many possible values to enter specific and consistent velocities fast.

Also, there are many drum sequencer plugins with separate dedicated lanes for velocity and other parameters, but the thing I would like is a feature that integrates the velocity editing into the note lane itself.

Anyway, that's just me, but I think that would be a great workflow enhancer for midi.

Custom channel strips would be on top of my list.

What kind of customizability?

I would like to see expandable help files that I can add to when I get new plugins or articles. My other thing is to be able to categories my plugins with subcategories. Cakewalk has the later but I would like to have some backup to that.

Ideally as customizable as possible, similar to software like SynthEdit or FlowStone. It would be amazing to build your own channel strip with all the functions you ever dreamed of inside a dedicated editor (Of course with your own GUI) and the result gets compiled into a high-performance DAW-native format, replacing the default channel strip (if there is one). This would enable you to build the perfect mixer.

I want an auto management/clean up system. Delete empty tracks, disable and hide muted tracks, correct name of tracks and regions, color code by instrument group, group the releavant tracks in order, delete unused files, muted regions and whatnot and save as a new file to a new clean location.

I guess Max4Live would get you there (but be Ableton Live specific)

It's close but not close enough, especially regarding custom GUIs. I've been told that it doesn't compile runtime libraries either.

I haven't seen an example for this degree of customization in MuLab yet. Do you know one?

Since when were runtime libraries not already compiled? If its still sourcecode, its not yet a library.

I've been told that Max4Live does not involve creating runtime libraries, it's only scripts which get executed by Live. This results in a lower performance. And you can't use your own graphics.

I've been told
so not first-hand knowledge then.

So you're believing a source who has never heard of gen~ or RNBO then. And thinks that max patchers are 'scripts'. Okay.
And you can't use your own graphics.
Hmmm. Sounds legit.

I did use Live only briefly and stopped after several crashes with certain VST plugins. So no, no first-hand knowledge.

That doesn't look custom enough for me. Can you provide an example that does not look like the Live GUI at all?

Moved goalposts.
